St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones has announced new plans to make convenience store owners more responsible for the crimes committed on or outside their property.
Mayor Jones, St Louis' the first black female mayor, told leaders at the the Black Mayors' Coalition on Crime in Memphis that St Louis needs to combat violent crime and theft around convenience stores.
'We have a lot of violence around convenience stores and gas stations,' Mayor Jones said on Thursday.

“It didn’t explain how crime is the convenience stores’ fault.”
Don’t you know that most crime is caused by White Privilege and the patrimony of Western Civilization?

Victimhood is now a hardcore mindset among some minority citizens and their political representatives. They exist to demand and take by force their reparations. They have even convinced a huge percentage of non-minority Americans that their purpose for living is exclaiming their victimhood and getting reparations.
If you are the owner/manager/employee of a convenience store (aka reparations payment outlet), you are a symbol of the slave owners who created this problem in the beginning...and any violence at such reparations outlet is your fault.

This country took a deep dive when voters decided it was fashionable to vote for low-IQ blacks instead of competent whites.

Can we get anymore ignorant than some of these mayors???

The Left complains about food deserts because grocery chains will not locate in high crime areas. So if the local City Hall officials force convenience stores to close, you have shut down even that, usually overpriced food, outlet.
The result of placing Soros funded officials into city halls, DA offices, and judgeships is the death of all commerce other than the narcotics trade and other vices. Running the gentrifiers and what is left of the middle and upper classes out will be another effect. Inner cities are becoming the urban equivalent of Indian reservations, unproductive and dependent on corrupt leaders.

The article was short on details. It never spelled out how the mayor was going to make them more responsible. No specifics were given. The article only said she was going to make them "more responsible". It didn't say business owners would now be solely responsible. But "more responsible" could mean anything so I'll reserve judgment until I see the details.
My only comment is that if owners become "more responsible" for preventing crime, the DA has to be more responsible for arresting and prosecuting the criminals. If the second part isn't done and I'm a business owner in St. Lou, I am leaving.
