St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones has announced new plans to make convenience store owners more responsible for the crimes committed on or outside their property.
Mayor Jones, St Louis' the first black female mayor, told leaders at the the Black Mayors' Coalition on Crime in Memphis that St Louis needs to combat violent crime and theft around convenience stores.
'We have a lot of violence around convenience stores and gas stations,' Mayor Jones said on Thursday.

So it is the store owners, the car manufacturers, the gun makers, and so forth but NEVER the criminals committing the crimes. Interesting how that works out.
Heard her say this in a soundbite the other day on Chris Plante’s show...thought she pulled a “Biden” and simply misspoke. SMH.

Hey mayor I’ve got an idea for you. Mandate electric shock collars for everyone in the city. If you loiter in any one of these troublesome places for more than 3 minutes, you get a jolt and if you stay longer the intensity of the shock increases. If you return to that location within an hour you are shocked again. If you don’t keep moving more than 50 feet from any location in which you were shocked, the shocks keep coming with increased frequency. Troublesome locations will be determined by vote by cell phone and if any 3 people report a place as troublesome location, it is automatically added to the list. The shock collars will also have a decibel meter. If you yell, or play loud music, you get shocked.
This has been proven to work in scientific experiments. I’m sure it will fix your city. Trust the science.

I’ve never understood why a bunch of these store owners don’t get together and make a mutual commitment to shoot, shovel and shut up. Oh, and sorry cops, but those surveillance cameras are just for show. Or just lose the footage.
Anything the store owners might do will get them arrested.
It didn’t explain how crime is the convenience stores’ fault.
The title made me think this was the Bee.
