Sen. Todd Young Will Not Vote for Trump: ‘I’m Tired of Having My Vote Taken for Granted’

Sen. Todd Young (R-IN) will not vote for his own party’s nominee for president, he said Tuesday.

The establishment politician’s statement that he will not vote for Donald Trump comes days after the former president locked up the party’s nomination. Young had indicated earlier he would not endorse Trump, but Tuesday is the first time he admitted publicly he will not even vote for his party’s standard bearer.

“At some point, principled conservatives need to incentivize our party, the Republican Party, to nominate somebody that principled conservatives can actually believe in,” Young told a local Indiana outlet. “Stated differently, I’m tired of having my vote taken for granted.”

Trump has to declare war on the RINOs selling out MAGA and the USA. These RINOs need to get primaried, and if they survive that, have a third party/independent candidate in the general election so they get retired to K Street.

The entire point of a political party is to bring together a lot of people from diverse backgrounds and points of view, but who have certain basic principles in common with each other, so that all of them will get at least some of what they want, if their party’s candidate wins the next election. When somebody like this moron goes and says that he will not vote for his party’s candidate for president of the United States, he should have also turned in his resignation from the Republican party. This kind of action, publicly creating disunity within a party, should never be permitted. Who he decides to vote for, in the privacy of the voting booth, and who among his family, friends and colleagues that he discusses it with on a private basis, is his concern and not anyone else’s. But when he does this stuff publicly, he should be drummed out of the party.

Politicians are a very petty and very jealous group of self important folks , on both sides. Some can see what they need to do and get on board…. For others this is a chance to grab a headline or two.

Won’t vote for the candidate that GOP voters have nominated in landslide. Not a dime of RNC money to this puke now that Trump is the leader of the party. Losers like this guy may as well run as Democrats.

Exactly.

There was absolutely no reason in the world for him to go public about it—unless, of course, he wants to help Biden get reelected, and wants ‘to get in good’ with Biden, and particularly Harris after the election.

He may be looking for a cabinet position in the Harris Administration.
