When I was a kid in Beautiful Beaufort whenever a kid would get chickenpox, all the neighborhood kids were invited (or sent) over for a ‘chickenpox party’.

I am not aware of “anti-vaxxers” in any significant numbers targeting the measles vaccine. Obviously, the Covid vaccines are far and away the focus of the “anti-vaxxers.”

The US media has yet to seriously report this measles outbreak, while it continues to spread COVID panic. I think measles is just a harbinger of worse epidemics to come as a result of open borders. Expect outbreaks of TB, exotic STDs, tropical diseases and God forbid Ebola.

Measles wiped out entire military regiments during the Civil War. I come across the documentation all the time when doing family research. Yet my Mom’s entire family came down with measles when she was a kid and it wasn’t a huge deal aside from everyone staying at home. I’m fairly convinced that the military deaths weren’t so much due to measles as to the poor sanitation aspects surrounding it.

Take reasonable precautions and measles isn’t unbeatable. I have really had it three times way back when and I’m still alive. To be sure, I was sick and I remember what it was like all these years later. But, sheesh. Don’t panic.
