When I was a kid in Beautiful Beaufort whenever a kid would get chickenpox, all the neighborhood kids were invited (or sent) over for a ‘chickenpox party’.
This way the neighborhood got it all over at once.
High turnover on the base so there was always a fresh batch of kids who hadn’t had it...
