A New York judge says former President Donald Trump’s hush-money trial will go ahead as scheduled with jury selection starting on March 25.
Judge Juan Manuel Merchan said Thursday that he made the decision after speaking with the judge in Trump’s now-delayed federal election interference case in the nation’s capital.
Donald Trump arrived at NYC court Thursday, where a judge will finalize a trial date in the criminal case charging the real estate mogul with concealing payoffs to alleged lovers to hide potential sex scandals from voters in the 2016 presidential election.
Trump, 77, took a seat at the defense table in a packed courtroom on the 15th floor of the criminal courthouse in lower Manhattan at 9:30 a.m. for a hearing expected to last two to three hours.

Collusion?
March 25?. Hmmm...something about that date...How is this OK in the United States of America. Free no longer.
Well, it’s clear that Senor Merchan won’t be voting for Trump.
Payoffs are not illegal...it’s done all the time.

The state legal system of New York engaging in racketeering against Trump? Whodathunk!?! /s
Good grief, subpoena the Congressional hush money for sexual misconduct fund, the taxpayers are responsible for.
This is something that almost every politician does and it is perfectly legal. If Trump wins, which I hope he does, he needs to ORDER the AG and US Attorneys to immediately INDICT every Demonrat Politician that has ever paid off their whores in any way.
I think they were trying to say campaign funds were used for this - even though it was convicted liar Cohen who made the payoff with his own funds.
The Congressional Rape and Run Fund.
‘concealing payoffs to alleged lovers to hide potential sex scandals from voters in the 2016 presidential election.’
At least he didn’t try to use government resources to push false narratives, hide evidence of corruption, or reveal financial misdeeds related to money laundering. That would be too much for this country to bear!
It may be disgusting to have to pay off a blonde woman just to be heard and understood clearly, but there obviously must be a fundamental right to do so.
Most people speak not to flap their jaws, but to be heard and understood.
I believe all campaign finance laws should be deemed unconstitutional.
But do remember the other NY court case -- Trump asked a bank for a loan, the bank gave him the loan, Trump repaid the loan, the Bank said it was happy. A judge decided Trump owed about $400M for that egregious transgression.

The country needs to worry less about consensual adult sexual activity and more about major political issues such as the invasion.
I think Speaker Johnson and Senator Graham would agree.
They had Kevin on from Shark Tank...Said Trump did the same thing that EVERY INVESTOR in the WORLD does.
If Trump ended up with $375 million more, obviously the real estate of concern went up in value.
Did Warren Buffett suffer price declines on Berkshire Hathaway’s Coca- Cola shares?
Probably, but Warren Buffett knew the shares he bought would wind up much higher than the market prices he paid.
Trump made lots of money after buying NYC property when NYC hit a rough patch in the 1970s.
Not collusion but an ex parte communication. The reporter misses this important issue. At the very least the judge needed to disclose, in advance, that he was going to communicate with that judge, the purpose of the communication, etc. best practice would have been to have the communication in the presence of the attorneys
Kevin of Shark Tank made a great video defending Trump..See my link above
Judge Juan Manuel Merchan said Thursday that**** he made the decision****.
