If he did it on Friday, or better yet for him on Saturday, it’d have gotten lost amidst the Super Bowl and Lunar New Year celebrations.
Everyone knows you dump relevant news on Friday.
Jill is a shrewd elder-abuser. She knows better than this.

The PR flak rule is to respond to bad news quickly—no matter what day of the week.
That way your version of events appears in the next day’s news.
Of course in this age of the Internet “quickly” means really immediately—which also means that prep work suffers and more mistakes happen.
Joe got pissed, and could not be stopped. Ugly, and damaging for our nation. Imagine what our geopolitical foes are thinking right now. If one had been waiting for a good opportunity to SERIOUSLY stir the pot, this would be it.
It may have seemed so important that they wanted to respond
quickly. Can’t say beyond that.
I think everyone overestimates Jill’s role in all this. Yes she adores the trappings of first lady but she doesn’t come across as too bright or especially devious, just selfish.

Maybe everyone allowed it on purpose. Notice how much they’re allowing him to speak publicly? They want to show voters why they’re pulling him out the race, even if he doesn’t want to leave.
I suspect this appearance was at Biden’s own insistence. He is so determined to hide his decline, and thinks indignant shouting will impress his detractors. Throw in some irrelevant drivel, and you got yourself a president.
At this point, you have to believe that the only reason she married him in the first place was to get close to power (I know, not exactly a rare event in D.C.). That would explain why she continues to let him go on with this pathetic charade. She doesn’t care one bit about him, only that the Biden family, especially she herself, hangs onto power as long as possible. Of course, Joe hasn’t been any better the way that he has shamelessly exploited the corpses of his son and former wife for political gain. The Bidens are a family of sleazeballs and criminals.
