We’re supposed to get up to 75 tomorrow! Really crazy for the first day of February! Then back down to the mid-60s.

Good evening, lightman...we will NEVER forget.

Hope you are snug and warm. How’s the wood pile holding up?

Hey there, Kathy.

Yes, the well’s pumping out plenty of water again. Whew!

Wow!! That huge hoodie looks VERY toasty-warm. Glad you remembered you have it because it sounds like you really need it right now. Pretty chilly in your house but heating systems can only do so much when it’s as frigid as it is there this week. I hope your creek hasn’t frozen.

Keep your poor knees warm so you can move around when you need to. Cold and arthritis don’t mix well.

Lucky you! I’d love some 75 degree days but I’ll have to wait a while yet.
Just watched the weather report and we’ll have mid 50s tomorrow, around 60 Friday, 64 Saturday, then back down to mid 50s afterwards. If it holds true, I’ll be able to crack a window or two Saturday.
No rain and for now, that’s good. We could use a little drying period because it’s pretty mushy around here.

It is so disheartening to see them treated with disrespect. Well....WE will honor and salute their sacrifices! That’s for sure!

Yeah, all that rain you’ve already had needs a chance to soak in good before adding to it. I hope it does get warm enough this weekend for you to open up the house for a bit. Makes all the difference!

Reached and slightly passed the halfway point on the "working" rack last week, a little early because February 2 aka Groundhog Day but really Candlemass Day is the halfway point for winter.

Old saying:

The fortunate man on Candlemass Day
Hath half of his fires and half of his hay

After a long wood burning run the "January thaw" arrived the same day as I transferred wood from a deep storage rack to the working rack. Stove went out on the 23rd and might not need to be relighted until around Valentine's Day.

Gotta add...in Presidential election years as I sling wood I frequently ponder who have the various candidates and VP possibilities would join me in such an effort.

Only one: DJT!

Yes, we had a lot of runoff at the end because the ground was so saturated. It needs to soak in and make room for more.

It got a little warmer yesterday than predicted so maybe it’ll do the same the next few days. Today stayed chillier than they predicted because of stubborn cloud cover over this area of the state. That finally moved off late this afternoon and the clear skies are going to leave us in the 20s overnight.

Too cute....I am so thankful every day that I work from home. And my car is in the garage. Driving to work every day and coming out to a freezing cold car have long lost any appeal they might have had.

I’m thankful that you are working from home, too. For some reason, I thought you had gone back and just thinking of you being out in this kind of weather wasn’t pleasant. LOL! I’m sure your car is happy, too. Do you have one of those electric engine warmers? I guess you’d nearly have to up there, huh.

Brrrr! That’s just colder than I want for sure. I don’t mind 30s, but anything colder and I start worrying about the kitties. At least I found a way to warm one of their water dishes anyway!

Gizmo looks VERY pleased with your outing yesterday. What wasn’t to like? Beautiful weather, lots of roaming, and lots of rolling. :-)

Colder than I want too! LOL At least the wind isn’t blowing tonight so the house doesn’t feel chilly. Nights won’t be as cold the rest of the week.
We still have February to get through and it can be worse than January sometimes. I’m going to appreciate this little break while it’s here.

I fully understand the fretting about the kitties when it gets real cold. Been there, done that, and am glad everyone’s inside nowadays.

I’m glad you thought about trying the warmer for your kitties’ water dish and that it did the job. One less thing for you to be concerned about.
