President Joe Biden holds just a three-point advantage over former President Donald Trump in Virginia — a state Trump plans to make a “heavy play” for, assuming he wins the nomination — in a hypothetical two-way general election race, according to a Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) poll.
The poll, published on Tuesday, shows that 43 percent of the 812 registered voter respondents would back Biden versus 40 percent who would support Trump. Four percent would vote for someone else, five percent would not vote, and six percent would remain undecided. Biden’s lead falls within the plus or minus 5.46 percent margin of error, and interviews were conducted from December 28, 2023, to January 13, 2024.

I think it is reasonable that Trump flips Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, and Michigan this cycle. He leads each of these states by 5-6 points in the RCP average. That gets him to 283-246. PA and WI look like a dead heat right now, could go either way. Granted, this is 9 months out from the election but I think it’s a winnable election for Trump.
I think the problem is there are some independents and Dems that are soured on Biden right now over Israel but if push comes to shove I don’t think Trump gets many of these. Plus the economy looks like it is going to slowly improve enough over the next 6 months to bring a few indies back into the fold for the POTATUS.
Gun to my head, have to make a bet right now, Trump flips Georgia, Arizona, and New Mexico to get achingly close at 267 but we end up with another four years of Bo Xiden as he comes up just short in Michigan and Arizona.
Meant “just short in Michigan and Nevada”, mostly due to heavy UAW/SEIU presence.

Trump met with the whack job from Pyong Yang and Trump was instrumental in the start of civil flights from Tel Aviv to Riyadh. Who would have put a buck on either of those things happening? There’s more, as you know. I just can’t see things getting better or at least, holding the course under a Biden administration.

Trump may win AZ due to the illegal immigration issue. It’s getting so bad that Dem AZ Governor Hobbs has been critical of Biden in public statements.

I didn’t really think that there were that many imbeciles in Virginia!
Needs money - so much material to run compare and contrast ads to both President's records - and needs to be full clips, not just these "cute" ads the production companies like to make with graphics and sound effects. And also would help to have a better run RNC - McDaniel and a number of other folks need to be replaced.
Virginia has a ton of federal bureaucrats, active and retired, living there, mostly in Northern Virginia. There is also a large contingent of Muslims who vote as a bloc.
