Workers who make Bud Light and other top-selling beers are threatening to strike in demand of significant wage increases, job security and improvements to retirement and benefits in the first big union contract battle of 2024.
Five thousand workers, represented by the Teamsters at 12 Anheuser-Busch breweries in the US, are threatening to strike after voting 99% in favor of a strike authorization last month. Their current union contract is set to expire on 29 February.
“Without a contract by February 29, there won’t be any beer come March,” the Teamsters warned on X.
The contract fight is the first at Anheuser-Busch with the Teamsters president, Sean O’Brien, at the helm of the union. Elected in 2022, O’Brien led the union in securing record contract gain at UPS last year amid threats of a massive strike.
“If Anheuser-Busch’s executives can’t get their act together to negotiate an agreement that respects workers, we will see them out on the streets,” O’Brien said in a statement on the strike vote. According to the Teamsters, the union hasn’t met with Anheuser-Busch since 16 November, when the company refused to negotiate on job security.

Modelo and Dos Equis suit me just fine
Hopefully the union will strike for many months.
AB is getting Karma for letting perverts run their company.
No big loss.

“‘There won’t be any beer come March’: US Anheuser-Busch workers threaten strike...”
Will anyone notice if there is no A/B products available? I’ve noticed the shelf space for Bud products at my local Kroger is becoming smaller and smaller.
I’m starting to see some people drinking bud light again at football games and public gatherings I attend.
Don’t give up, people!
And I’ll add, pro-Trump, freedom loving.
Good. Don’t krauts own it now anyway?
“Plenty of beer; just not AB”
That’s right. Beers come and go.
I remember the commercial jingle: “When you’re out of Schlitz, you’re out of beer”. Well, we’re pretty much out of Schlitz... But we still have beer.
There was a beer popular in AZ back when, Lucky Lager. The song was: “Lucky is the beer beer-drinkers drink”. Well, we’re out of Lucky Lager; but beer drinkers still drink beer.
Maybe Budweiser can go onto that same ash heap.
I don’t think anybody is going to miss that AB rice water very much.
Gotta be careful though......AB has many brands you may not think they own
Budweiser no matter what anyone says.... is not beer. I wouldn’t slop hogs with it...
A I don’t drink Budweiser and B I have a pretty good stash in my chiller. I sympathize with their workers down there in Fairfield but maybe they should learn to code.
Like anyone cares if the people who make Bud Light go on strike.
hahahahahaha
If all you got is BudLight you still don’t have any beer.
Different world with micro breweries prevalent and so many brand choices.
The customers (whichever are left) won't see an increase in price to cover the loss. Suppliers can't lower their prices. Management won't see a drop in compensation. That leaves the workers to pay the price for management's sickness in selecting a tranny to represent the company.
I guess they saw how great the SAG strike went and want to do the same thing.
Modelo won’t strike!😎
I feel bad for you. But I’ll do my part and drink your share
I personally prefer mead but beer is really simple to make. So simple a caveman could, and did, do it.
