Really? It’s that short a period. I must admit in following politics for all these years I’ve never looked into the details on how caucuses actually function, other than the tiered “if you’re guy’s out you have to choose somebody else”

Is this a secret ballot ? I believe that was started last year. Just the GOP side that is today, though. The Dems are doing a mail in caucus...
As I understand it you get together a group, someone pitches who they think and why you should vote for them and then they vote or stand in groups, Trump folks stand in this corner, Haley folks in that corner, de Santis folks in this corner. Then they tally the votes.

Yes, then they elect someone to attend the state convention where the candidate is actually determined. So the person the group selects “votes” at the state level for the candidate.
