Increase in rice farming in sub-Saharan Africa found to be producing rising amounts of methane

A team of engineers and atmospheric scientists at Harvard University, working with a colleague from the California Institute of Technology's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, has calculated the increased amount of methane being expelled into the atmosphere due to increases in rice farming in parts of Africa.

In their paper published in the journal Nature Climate Change, the group describes how they recalculated methane emissions due to recent increases in rice production in sub-Saharan Africa, and what they found by doing so.

Prior research has shown that methane is the second most important greenhouse gas (behind carbon dioxide)—it has been found to have more radiative properties (it holds in heat better) than CO2, which means that even though far less of it is emitted into the atmosphere, it still plays a major role in global warming.

Poor Africans have a good crop they can grow instead of starving. Global warming increases. Win/win. Bring it on.

so then...the best way to save earth for humans is for humans to starve and die? makes sense.

Would these scientists prefer they raise cattle?

"A team of engineers and atmospheric scientists at Harvard University..."

Ooooookaaay....we might want to run their work thru the PlagiarismChekker to see if the info is valid.

These scientists want Africans dead, or living elsewhere.

Deep States, plural, have plans for Africa.

Abd those plans don’t include people who likely will object.

Are they using night soil for fertilizer?

Starvation is far preferable to the generation of methane - its for the children!

Prior research has failed to show that water vapor is the most important greenhouse gas.

Have they attacked any Jooos! on campus lately?

That causes global warming, too./s

The wonderful thing about rice paddies is that the fetid water in which the rice grows are full of nourishing algae. No need for night soil, or chemical, fertilization at all.

Oh noooooooooo! Greenhouse gases might jump all the way up to 0.043% of the atmosphere then? Whatever will we do?

I almost miss the days when we dare all gonna “freeze to death” because of the coming man-caused “ice age”. Now we’re all gonna burn to death according to the hyperventilating liberal masses

If they eat they fart and cause global warming. Let them eat bugs.

Global warming will be good. Rising oceans? Build dykes now. It’ll give the unemployed and not-too-bright something to do for pay. Tropical and sun-belt crops will be cultivatable further North. Heating costs will go down. It’s all good.

[[which means that even though far less of it is emitted into the atmosphere, it still plays a major role in global warming]]

Bs! There isn’t nearly enough to cause even a tiny LOCAL change in climate let alone enough to cause GLOBAL climate change. The left make it sound like a,tiny tiny amount is blankett8ng the globe so thickly that nothing can escape- that is pure bs! Methane itself likely makes up far far less than the 0.04% “greenhouse gases” in the atmosphere. And even 0.04% is nowhere near enough to cause global climate change or local climate change for that matter. What can cause —slight— local change are parking lots, malls, some deforestation etc, but the effect is so small its laughable to claim the globe is heating up because of it. Gl9bal warming agendists are a shameful lot

It is good BUT, it is purely natural due to natural cyc, ical warming trends that have always existed- not due to man
