Key Findings | Individual and Community Preparedness Division
FEMA has conducted the National Household Survey on Disaster Preparedness annually since 2013 to assess preparedness actions, attitudes and motivations in the United States.
The survey measures preparedness of the American public across the whole community.
The survey was fielded from February 1 to March 14, 2023.
Data was collected using a web-based survey written in English and Spanish.
7,604 responses were received.
Everyone was asked general disaster and pandemic preparedness questions.
Some people identified as being at greater risk for one of the hazards surveyed were asked additional preparedness questions related to that hazard.
Responses were adjusted by key demographic variables to better reflect the composition of the general public.

It's a 43 page pdf with a lot of formatting, I wasn't going to try to recreate that here. Hit the source link and take a look. It's not very information-dense.
It's interesting to see what our DC geniuses think is important. They of course slice and dice the info by a plethora of political identity groups. I'm sure that if the minority groups aren't prepping, somehow it's my fault.
They do a lot of what people think, as opposed to concrete measures. "51% of adults believed they were prepared for a disaster." OK, fine. What percentage had at least two weeks of food for the household on hand?
Overall, a typical bureaucratic waste of time. But at least half the country isn't ready for a disaster. And of the ones that say they are, I bet the FReeper prepper community would disabuse most of them of their notions.

Push poll — FEMA version. Manipulate by polling....
Second rule of Disaster Preparedness; No one talks about Disaster Preparedness.
What my plans are and level of any supposed stockpile are no one's business.
My eyes glazed over trying to dig thru that stuff.
Was there ever a mention of arming oneself?
After reading media reports about a suspect’s large arsenal containing hundreds of rounds of ammunition , a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol, I am leery of confessing to any non-friend of my minimal survival collection of pump shotguns and semi-auto shotguns, bolt action rifles and semi-auto rifles, revolvers and semi-auto handguns. I can only guess at tens of thousands of rounds of ammo bought before the big price expansion.
This mild old man would be massacred in the media as an entire one man militia.

Also...was there a suggestion by FEMA that you should register your prep supplies with the gubment...so they know where to visit in case of a supply shortage?
Happily, in a pinch, you ARE a one-man militia, as intended by the framers.
“Welcome to the party, pal!”
Why would anyone think FEMA has NOT been politicized by The Regime?
Why would anyone expect a 40-page GovDome sponsored report to be written in plain-spoken English?
Why would anyone expect a clear, actionable result?
Totally agree.
If someone is starting from scratch I would add to those—move as far as you can from heavily populated areas.
If you do not make that happen it is a waste of time to make further preparations.
After a rash of catastrophic canoe accidents....
Screw DC. The ‘disaster’ is being promulgated by them! In the form of MILLIONS of illegals they are helping to enter and stay in this country illegally. That said, my own disaster prep is lead, powder, copper and brass for their ‘disaster’ if it’s needed.
Blacks topped this category.
“Percentage of people who believed that preparing can help in a disaster and were confident in their ability to prepare”
From those who are ‘able’ to those who are in ‘need.’
I wouldn’t tell those bastards anything. This is just a run-up to the passage of “anti-hoarding” laws.
We are 100% unprepared for anything and joyfully await the presence of FEMA saviors.
The first rule of Prep Club is you don’t talk about Prep Club.

Our biggest disaster sits in the white domicile, when he’s not on vacation.

Best laugh of 2024, so far!
