What is about Chick-fil-A that absolutely drives so many on the Left to push for its destruction via periodic spasms of boycotts (that typically fail) or imposing abusive government regulations like that proposed by New York State Assemblyman Tony Simone?
Simone is a freshman member of the Empire State's legislature, representing a district that encompasses "Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen, Midtown and part of the Lincoln Center area in Manhattan," according to his official website.
For whatever reason, Simone became deeply concerned about the fact that some Sunday travelers on the New York Thruway (NYTW) might not be able to get their lunch or dinner at one of the Chick-fil-As operating Monday through Saturday at six state-managed rest stops.
"It’s Sunday, Christmas Eve … thousands of New Yorkers are traveling to their families to find restaurants at rest areas across the state. The Thruways are meant to serve New York travelers first. I think it’s ridiculous that you’re able to close on Sunday, one of the busiest travel days of the week," Simone told a local New York media outlet.
"You know, we get hungry when we’re traveling. We may not like our brother-in-law or sister-in-law’s cooking and wanna get a snack on Christmas Eve," the Democrat Assemblyman noted. "To find one of the restaurants closed on the Thruway is just not in the public good."
So Simone's bill commands Chick-fil-A to violate its own well-known practice of not opening its stores on Sundays so that employees are free to worship or not, as they choose, to spend time with their families, and get some well-deserved rest.

That’s called a tenant build-out. It’s only done to meet the specific needs of a specific tenant, so in that context Applegreen gains nothing from having Chick-fil-A there instead of any other food concession.
They upset you enough that you joined the gay power left against them.
Stopped donations to fellowship of Christian athletes and Salvation Army to give it to a flop house for runaway teens that was started by a pedophile priest. Then during the BLM terror, their president said we should all find a blank person and kneel before them and clean their shoes.
It was widely reported.
The government-imposed COVID shutdowns and mandates probably made that impossible, because a government agency no longer has enough credibility to convince a business operating a concession in a public right-of-way that it will be free to conduct business unmolested anymore.
Yes CFA sold out to the woke mob but they are still a private company and if they choose to close on Sunday it should be their right to do so.
Never ate there again when they stabbed normal Americans in the back. If you stand with the pervert priest runaway shelter and think I should take the BLM knee…. I shake the dust if my shoes and turn my back on you.
It’s like that. They went woke.
Before this bill from the homosexual activist legislator in post-19, this is the 2021 attack on the business.
Planned Chick-fil-A locations at thruway rest stops draw backlash, support from NY state lawmakers

“However, the restaurant Chick-fil-A is drawing pushback from at least four state lawmakers, who are asking the Thruway Authority leave Chick-fil-A out of its plazas, citing the company’s long history of donating to anti-LGBTQ+ organizations.
State Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal said the fast-food chain goes against many of the principles that New York has fought for, including marriage equality and anti-gender discrimination.
“Why is the state endorsing this fast-food chain by allowing it to be on New York state property?” Assemblywoman Rosenthal explained. “I know they’ve said ‘well, no taxpayer money involved in getting them’ etc., but they are sitting on New York state property first. Secondly, there are many other chains that can offer delicious food on the Thruway.”
The Thruway’s 27 rest stops will be undergoing $300 million worth of renovations starting on July 29.
Applegreen, the convenience store chain that is taking over the lease on the Thruway’s rest stops, will be privately funding the project as part of a deal reached with the state.
In a statement, the Thruway Authority emphasized that no taxpayer dollars or toll payer funds will be supporting these upgrades.”
Do you?
Do you think CFA is not involved in the build out of their tenant space in every mall food court they’re in, as well as these NYTW spaces?
And yes, a firm I used to be part owner of was involved in design of mall tenant spaces for a national chain. Many dozens of locations.
Sounds correct, but that was never my assertion.
That is what I said, they upset you enough that now you side with the gay power movement against them.
Sure… just don’t expect me to get outraged and huff and puff for them. Did that back in 2012 when the gays tried to cancel them over marriage comments by the CEO. Christians flooded the place and stood up for them.
No more.
I’m confident the other fast food establishments don’t mind the extra business on Sundays. Those Chic FilA restaurants have long lines six days a week.
The sooner the better.
Because they were not totally guano crazy.
There is a reason places are not open 24/7/365. It is too much cost for too little return.
Funny how the Left loves it when government "owns" property so they can micromanage it. It actuality the taxpayers own it but these dictators can control it.
Let’s give him over to HAMas then.
Yep, makes sense. No harm no foul.
Eternal blood feud is the leftist way.
The left hates God.
Most of them are located on the Interstates and major state highways around here -- which is pretty much what the entire NY State Thruway system is.
