Funny how the Left loves it when government "owns" property so they can micromanage it. It actuality the taxpayers own it but these dictators can control it.
For what it’s worth, it is illegal for the government to operate retail/food services within the right-of-way of the Interstate Highway System under current Federal law. The only reason those service areas even exist on the New York State Thruway is that the highway is covered under a grandfather clause in the Federal statute because the service areas were in place before the law went into effect in 1960.
