Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) became the third GOP member of Congress to be “swatted” during this week’s holiday recess, following earlier false reports to law enforcement of incidents at the homes of Reps. Brandon Williams (R-NY) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).

“Last night, while at dinner with my wife, cowards ‘swatted’ my home in Naples. These criminals wasted the time & resources of our law enforcement in a sick attempt to terrorize my family,” Scott posted Thursday on X.

The Republican senator also thanked the Naples Police Department and the Collier County Sheriff’s Department “for all they do to keep us safe.”

The swatters are either trying to get the target killed or are attempting to terrorize them. Charge them with either attempted homicide or terrorism. With today’s surveillance, there is a 0 chance that the FBI couldn’t figure it out who made the calls if they tried. The only way they don’t find the evil doers is because they are looking the other way.

Anonymous tips from burner phones about some “random house” that needs to be swatted should be ignored by all police forces.

If the call is traceable, and if the police can first identify the person making the call, then (perhaps) they can go ahead and swat the “random house”.

And if it is a false alarm, the person identified as the caller should get 10 years in jail.
