The NYPD has seized 389 untraceable ghost guns so far this year — a 710% surge in such seizures since 2019, when a mere 48 were taken, police stats show.
In 2022, a record-high 463 of these deadly firearms were recovered.
“It’s distressing to see that many ghost guns recovered by police,” Mark Collins, federal policy director at gun control advocacy group Brady, told The Post.

Ghost guns are firearms that are privately assembled and untraceable.

Listen up, kids!
Guns are deadlier when they don’t have serial numbers.

“Ghost guns” properly refers to firearms that have been manufactured by individuals for their own use, not to be sold or transferred to another person. In such a case, a serial number is not (yet) legally required.
I’ve also seen the term applied to guns that have had their serial numbers obliterated, which is something entirely different. Because “journalism”.

Unjust laws ALWAYS creates a black market and spurs organized crime as prohibition did in the 1920’s, 100 years ago.

I wonder if Mark Collins can cite any example of any crime being solved by tracing the firearm used.

Distress away. This sort of thing wouldn’t be necessary absent the opressive regulatory regime.

Unjust laws ALWAYS creates a black market and spurs organized crime as prohibition did in the 1920’s, 100 years ago.And manufacturing a gun requires not much in the way of machinery and tooling. If the cartels can (and they do) build submarines to transport drugs, they can certainly (and they will) manufacture their own small arms and ammunition. So will we.
"Traceability" with respect to crime prevention is a crock, anyway. Criminals' guns are almost always stolen, or bought by straw purchasers and then reported stolen, so knowing who the original purchaser was is useless. Except confiscating guns from law-abiding citizens. A glaring violation of the 2A.

It’s a gun that goes “BOO!”
