US Supreme Court justices on Monday afternoon responded to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s request to quickly rule on Trump’s immunity claims.

In September Trump was hit with 4 counts in Jack Smith’s January 6 case up in DC: Conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.
Jack Smith is fighting to keep the March 4 trial date (one day before Super Tuesday) in his January 6 case against Trump in DC.
Trump’s lawyers argued that Trump is immune from federal prosecution for alleged ‘crimes’ committed while he served as US President.
Jack Smith skipped over the appellate court and went straight to the US Supreme Court on Trump’s immunity claims.
“This case presents a fundamental question at the heart of our democracy: whether a former President is absolutely immune from federal prosecution for crimes committed while in office,” Smith wrote in the Monday filing.
“The only reason for this petition is to seek to guarantee a trial of Trump (and possible conviction) before the election,” Constitutional expert Jonathan Turley said.
In a brief order, the Supreme Court signaled it would grant Jack Smith’s request for an expedited consideration.
“The court’s brief order did not signal what it ultimately would do.” – the AP reported.
The high court ordered Trump’s lawyers to respond by December 20.
According to the AP, the Supreme Court is scheduled to meet next on January 5, 2024.

Smith must think he has a solid case but this sounds like a Hail Mary to me.
WTF. The SC won’t lift a finger to intervene on massive election fraud because of _court precedent_ but they’ll bypass precedent and appellate court judgements to facilitate election fraud.
A lot of people are claiming that a decision will hurt Trump. Maybe so, but if the Justices have been following these cases, maybe they were waiting for an opportunity to stop all this nonsense as soon as possible.
If so, Jack handed them the perfect opportunity to so. No one can complain if SCOTUS rules in favor of Trump because Smith asked for a ruling.

They have given Trump til the 20th to reply to Jack Smiths motion.
If they grant Smiths motion, then there will be an appropriate tie for Trump's legal team to draft a proper response.
My intuition is that the Supreme Court will listen to the arguments but decide that the appeals court should listen to the case first.
It just occurred to me that the rats might be setting up a legal case to protect the biden, clinton, and obama crime families, especially once Obiden has been kick to the curb.

This signals Smith's case in Florida is not going to be heard before the election. He needs the DC case to get a conviction before the election. He does not care if it is tossed on appeal he wants to damage Trump. He knows the Marxist Judge has already convicted Trump.
The problem there is that Trump’s impeachment and ACQUITTAL for the same alleged “crimes” related to January 6th helps make his case under constitutional law. The rest of those losers can’t make that same argument.

Quick Context. Mary McCord was the architect of all Trump targeting efforts. The FISA on Carter Page, the weaponization of the DOJ-NSD, the installation of Michael Atkinson as Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG), the companion to Sally Yates in the Flynn targeting, lead staff for the Schiff/Nadler impeachment effort, later appointment by FISA Presiding Judge Boasberg to be amicus to the FISC, in combination with Chief Justice John Roberts holding authority over the FISC, and the discovery that Sheldon Snook, McCord’s husband works in Robert’s office as “special assistant to Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr.’s counselor. The counselor’s office advises the chief justice not only on the management and budget of the Supreme Court but also on his interactions with the executive and legislative branches, along with numerous other public roles in which Roberts serves.” (link)
Mary McCord is the fulcrum point for all of the above issues. She connects all of the targeting operations. Mary McCord is the center of it, and John Robert’s office is compromised by the appointment of her husband Sheldon Snook. So, this story below does not surprise me.
Special Prosecutor Jack Smith jumped over the appeals court and asked the Supreme Court to decide on President Trump’s position of presidential immunity for his requests to secure the integrity of the 2020 election while in office. In the fastest turn around time in history, the Supreme Court [Robert’s office] said yes, they will hear the arguments.

In general, a President should have vast immunity - otherwise each successive Presidency can jail the predecessor.
Trumps case is even more unique, because he is also the leading Presidential candidate.
