I don't think that the Supreme Court has agreed to hear an expidited appeal that circumvents the lower courts .

They have given Trump til the 20th to reply to Jack Smiths motion.

If they grant Smiths motion, then there will be an appropriate tie for Trump's legal team to draft a proper response.

exactly. My concern is that if the mpotion is not heard en banc, that two lefty Justices like Kagan and Spotomeyer will be assigned to hear the motion itself.

I think only two or three Justices hear interlocutory motions.
