The House will vote the week of December 10 on formalizing the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden to strengthen subpoena power over the stonewalling Biden administration, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) stated during a Tuesday press conference.
The vote will be a test for House Republicans, who hold a slight majority over House Democrats. The measure will need nearly all Republican support.
Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) opened an “impeachment inquiry” on September 12, but lawmakers did not vote to approve the measure. If the impeachment inquiry receives majority support on the House floor, the inquiry will be formally adopted, a status that Johnson says will help the House’s inquiry obtain information blocked by the White House. “The House has no choice if it’s going to follow its constitutional responsibility to formally adopt an impeachment inquiry on the floor so that when the subpoenas are challenged in court, we will be at the apex of our constitutional authority,” Johnson said

Dems wont vote, but it will further show all the gutless Republicans.
Not expecting much to unfold, but, 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Try him for treason.
American Crime Family ALERT!
“The House has no choice if it’s going to follow its constitutional responsibility but to formally adopt an impeachment inquiry on the floor so that when the subpoenas are challenged in court, we will be at the apex of our constitutional authority,” Speaker Johnson said
This is a waste of time. Investigate, try to get past the pretorian guard media, try to get the attention of the morons in the American public, for what? The Senate will never remove Biden.
Might be better to try to figure out how to block Biden, and maybe increase the House advantage next year. Naaaawwww, go ahead with the kabuki.
Better chance of finding a flying pig throwing a snowball in hell.
I agree, however. While I believe Reps are gutless, I do think they are afraid of the weaponized DoJ and FBI.
How about you just present your evidence to a Republican attorney general. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton seems to have guts.
The establishment Republicans will put a knife into the back of this effort. They are not going to vote against their liberal kindred spirits across the aisle.
The result will further alienate the Republican base and make it abundantly clear the Republican Party stands for nothing they claim, but most of what the Democrat Party stands for, thus, even with Trump on the ticket the GOP will take a beating in congressional and senate races next year because their own base knows they are full of crap.
They have to do something for election optics.
Smart voters know the Republicans are stupid hacks.
Starting to like this guy.
100% agree. You see it the same way I do. 24 will be a shit show and 25 is going to accelerate the fall.
It’s going to take a massive “kinetic action” to clean this mess up.
We know it will go no where...but everyone insists we impeach Biden and waste a lot of time....so that;'s what they're tying to do.
I have this theory that Santos was exchanged for a few dem votes on an inquiry. We’ll find out…..
When is the next non-deserved vacation (recess) to stretch through Christmas and New Years and later? Wouldn’t want to overwork the delicate politicians.
The House works about two days a week and the Senate works a little more than that, according to federal records.
You’ve probably heard the phrase “do-nothing Congress” at least once in your life, and it’s often a jab at the inability of lawmakers to reach common ground and pass important spending bills.
The House of Representatives has averaged 146.7 “legislative days” a year since 2001, according to records kept. That’s about one day of work every two and a half days.
The Senate, on the other hand, was in session an average of 165 days a year over the same time period.

The second half of next year will see lots of congressional breaks as the election approaches. Very little of anything will get done.
Meanwhile the national debt is rapidly approaching $34 trillion.
RE: Meanwhile the national debt is rapidly approaching $34 trillion.
Pretty soon you’re talking about real money. (allegedly said by Dirksen)
The Interest on that debt recently went over a Trillion dollars. I can still remember a time where the entire Federal Budget was less than a Trillion dollars!
Why anybody is still lending anything to Uncle Sam boggles the mind! The Historical records for Socialism suggests when it runs out of other people's money it goes into hyperinflation mode. We already got a taste of that.
“The Interest on that debt recently went over a Trillion dollars.”

The pols don’t care. They keep spending because they believe it buys them votes and lends the appearance that they are working on the nations’ problems. In actuality they are driving the country into a devastating and unpayable debt load and robbing future generations.
It will take another downgrade by the ratings services to even begin to get anyone’s attention.
