Vice President Mike Pence considered skipping the congressional count of the 2020 Electoral College votes on Jan. 6, 2021, worrying that his attendance would be “too hurtful” to former President Donald Trump.

Pence, 64, disclosed his eleventh-hour concerns about presiding over the peaceful transfer of power during a deposition taken by prosecutors in special counsel Jack Smith’s office earlier this year, ABC News reported.

Sources familiar with Smith’s investigation spoke with the outlet about Pence’s recollection of the former president’s pressure to decertify the electoral count.

This is flat-out wrong. No state ever “objected” to its own electoral votes.

IIRC that's right. There were individual state legislators who sought this result, and maybe even introduced bills. Even in Republican-controlled states, however, nothing happened. None of these bills were approved by even one chamber of the legislature, let alone both.

I'm no Pence fan, but I think people should be looking more at the Repubican state legislators.

What the heck do you think all the fuss is about on the subject of electors, deemed fake and illegal by the Marxists in power?

The U.S. Constitution requires all presidential electors to be certified on the same date established by Congress. For the 2020 election, that date was December 14th. The “alternate electors” were certified by the Republican Party in several states where there were ongoing legal challenges that could potentially be decided in Trump’s favor between December 14th of 2020 and January 6th of 2021. If that happened, they would need to have their own electors certified on December 14th because a slate of electors certified later (if, hypothetically, Trump won a major court challenge on December 28th) would not meet the constitutional requirement.

Read up on the previous situation in Hawaii in 1960 to see how that works.

More to the point, in no instance was an alternate elector allowed to sign any state's original certification of electors, nor was any alternative elector's certification ever successfully presented to that state's legislature or governor for signing. In MI, alternates were identified to security and not even permitted entrance to their own legislative chamber during their elector certification. Thus any ridiculous "alternate elector" suit is groundless.

Pence Knew. But, he lied. He diverted the focus back on Trump saying POTUS wanted the election overturned! Grrr.
POTUS wanted a “Delay” for 10 days and state investigations. Ten states objected to the ballot results and, by law, those states had to present a list of alternative electors on 20th January, in the event of an alternative outcome following investigation.
Pence was already sold out, and his Chief of Staff was his overseer, Mark Short. Ugh.

Trump was forced by the RINOs to take Pence and others like Session who sabotaged his administration. Trump's next term will be different, and hopefully have better judges too who don't think ordinary Americans lack standing to challenge election fraud. That should be a litmus test for nomination to the federal bench.
