The fight that led to a fatal stabbing at Southeast Raleigh High School had a history dating back several weeks, and the mother of the 14-year-old student charged with murder says she warned an official Monday that her son might be attacked.
Cherelle McLaughlin of Raleigh said a dispute between students began with her older daughter, who had an earlier altercation with a female Southeast Raleigh High student that snowballed until multiple other juveniles got involved.
McLaughlin said her daughter’s original fight led to more than a dozen juveniles, including many shown in videos of Monday’s fatal fight, coming to her house in Southeast Raleigh roughly a week ago and assaulting both McLaughlin and her mother.
When she brought her son to school Monday, McLaughlin said she told his case worker that he would likely get jumped for defending his sister.
“My son was fighting to his life,” she said. “He already missed school. They were threatening to jump on him, to do this, do that. I warned the school that morning right before i dropped him off.”
Two juvenile victims were wounded in the fight at Southeast Raleigh High Monday: a 15-year-old who died and a 16-year-old who remains hospitalized with what Raleigh Police Chief Estella Patterson called non-life threatening injuries.
Raleigh police obtained a secure custody order for a 14-year-old, charging him with murder on a juvenile petition.

If she felt that way she should have moved her son to another school of kept him at home.
Youths. Teens. Juveniles. I can’t keep up!
Even Third World dumps don’t have “case workers” in their schools.
Straight-up self defense. A kid in Las Vegas was murdered by a mob just like that a couple of weeks ago.
Parents actually believe that the schools will protect their children. And, let’s face it, we are likely not talking about folks with a superior intellect to start with.
I actually feel bad for this mother who did what she thought was right—sending the kid and asking the school to act as the in loco parentis.
>Youths. Teens. Juveniles. I can’t keep up!
The latest euphemism is “children”.
She offered her child to the executioner???? What kind of mothers do we have here??? Reminds me of Palestinian mothers who give up their children to be suicide bombers.
There are days I am happy my son (16) is 6 ft 8 in tall and built like a farm boy.
He’s a gental giant but has that don’t f with me look.
the police aren’t even legally obligated to protect you. they can legally stand by and watch you get beaten without any obligation to intervene...
Self defense ia a cardinal sin tor whitey.
Is the kid in the red hoodie the one who did the stabbing?
If so, it looks like self-defense.
Or is the kid in the grey hoodie who threw the first punch at the kid with the red hoodie the one who did the stabbing?
McLaughlin said she told his case worker ...”
As I understand it, dozens of ‘children’ took the time to follow the fight, record it and post it on their phones says a lot about the student body at Southeast Raleigh High.
The Daily Mail today calls them “Children.” You need to try harder to keep up!
Ghetto trash culture. Ain’t it grand? Parents should be teaching their children how to live in society, but they’re too lazy and apathetic to do it.
Murder is murder. Mother has a fighting daughter and a murdering son.
What is in these people’s mind except horribly wrong behavior?
I’ll answer my question. Excuse me.
IT IS EVIL, PURE, UNADULTERATED EVIL!
‘Dads on Duty’ Fight School Crime―By Being There

Punk kids would not want to mess with these guys.
On the bus from school, a kid I know was cursed with foul language, had chewed food spit on him and the aggressor got up and tried to hit him. Guess who got suspended for sitting in his seat and defending himself? This “just take the beating” attitude from administrators is contrary to human nature.
