Michigan judge says Trump can stay on primary ballot, rejecting challenge under insurrection clause

DETROIT (AP) — A Michigan judge ruled Tuesday that former President Donald Trump will remain on the state’s primary ballot, dealing a blow to the effort to stop Trump’s candidacy with a Civil War-era Constitutional clause.

It marks the second time in a week that a state court declined to remove Trump from a primary ballot under the insurrection provision of the 14th Amendment.

In Michigan, Court of Claims Judge James Redford rejected arguments that Trump’s role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol meant the court had to declare him ineligible for the presidency. Redford wrote that, because Trump followed state law in qualifying for the primary ballot, he cannot remove the former president.

We see these “Trump can stay on the ballot” conclusions as wins. But in reality the subtext is that they have the audacity to decide it to begin with. It’s like they want us to be happy that they’re not forbidding their opponents from being on the ballot ... this time.

The judge says Trump can stay on the PRIMARY ballot.

The commies don't care if Trump stays on the Primary ballot. They want him removed from the GENERAL ELECTION ballot.

No one should be surprised if the courts order Trump removed from the General Election ballot. As we have learned in recent years, so many judges and courts are utterly corrupt and do the bidding of the Establishment.

Looks like it will be up to Congress to keep Trump off of the ballots in the general election. I can see *that* happening.

“Redford said deciding whether an event constituted “a rebellion or insurrection and whether or not someone participated in it” are questions best left to Congress and not “one single judicial officer.”

A judge, he wrote, “cannot in any manner or form possibly embody the represented qualities of every citizen of the nation — as does the House of Representatives and the Senate.””

Not sure I would trust Congress with that either. The dems impeach their political opponents when they are in power.

UNC Chapel Hill is currently breaking state law and hiding “Silent Sam” in a secret warehouse like in the original “Raiders of the lost Arc.”

Because we aren’t using the same tactics against them that they use against us. Republican district attorneys and Republican attorneys general in the states and Republican groupns need to do to the Democrats what they’re doing to us. The Republican prosecutors on the border states in particular, need to be scouring state statutes, need to be thinking about new ways to approach those statutes in order to go after Biden. Until then, this will go on and we will have to win these cases for Trump.

They’re not done.

Two guys got charged for making robocalls to black people in MI, and the dems are hoping they can charge Trump for it.

Why wouldn’t Democrats want Trump on the ballot? He’s their best GOTV tool and fundraiser by far.
