Silvio is an ignorant clod
The rate of inflation is down.
The inflation of prices is cumulative irrespective of the rate.
When its said inflation is down it doesnt mean for example the price of milk is back to what it was a month ago, it means it didn’t increase as much this month as it did last month.
Doesn’t matter. the Democrats aren’t worried, they can steal another election in broad daylight.
I live in California...I paid $5.29 yesterday for a gallon of “regular” gasoline.
Good to know that inflation is down...
Chicken thighs in “value pack” for $1.77/lb last week. Also had whole pork loins (approx 10 lbs) for $1.98/lb and had the butcher cut one into thirds for pork roasts.
Otherwise, try to load up on loss leaders, store brands, buy a few items at Sam’s Club.
On the positive side, the price of beer is relatively unchanged
Other than taxes and insurance, most of my spending is on food and fuel [including utilities].
Wrong! If you start measuring inflation at the start of Biden's inauguration, the CPI was 258. It is now 309, so prices have increased 51 basis points since Biden took office; an increase of almost 20% in less than 4 years. So to say that inflation is down means that the CPI would have to be less than 258, so that statement is a baldface lie.
Also, the CPI conveniently does not include changes in fuel or food costs, which means the CPI is substantially understated. If you'd include those price changes, the CPI index would suggest an inflation of closer to 35%. Since I'm living off my social security checks, my spendable income has fallen by almost a third under Biden's "leadership".
This is just dead wrong and misleading.
The fact is that inflation has been cooling and while that perhaps hasn’t had an impact yet on consumers and voters, we are a year away from the general election. I have seen tides shift dramatically in less than twelve months in prior election cycles, often based on the economy.
As to food inflation:
Food prices both for food at home (grocery prices) and food away from home (dining out and other sources) through October increased 0.3 after rising 0.2 in each of the past three months, the report said.
That hardly is a fever pitch.
“Inflation is down unless you buy food to eat..”
Or gas or anything else for that matter.Let’s go Brandon.
Or electricity you use or gasoline for your car or....
You can see it in places like the hardware store too. I was at Home Depot and a roll of masking tape was about $6.
At our house: increases in electric bill, water bill, car insurance doubled, rent increased $50 per month, part D Medicare doubled, cable bill increased, and food cost unbelievable besides gas. Media and DC lie.
The price of crickets has just gone up and Kamala has just gone down!
What if I'm only buying food that isn't for eating. What if I'm buying it for ... juggling. Or to resurface my driveway with. Or just to look at. I mean, food has so many uses apart from eating it.
