Silvio is an ignorant clod

The rate of inflation is down.

The inflation of prices is cumulative irrespective of the rate.

food is bad, though

the Gov’t is taxing every stage of the food-delivery system (especially fuel)

now they’re going after fertilizers (”contribute to global warming”)

Exactly. It like I say to you: “Good news, you got 12” of water in your basement yesterday, but only 3” today.” Sure, but your basement is still flooded with 15” of water.

Precisely, my FRiend, it's the rate that's tapering.

For prices and costs to go down, that would be DEflation, and that's not happening.

Inflation has done such hideous damage to our middle class including our Military personnel and their families. And also to retirees on fixed incomes. (Like me).

That damage does not disappear just because it's not getting worse as fast as last year.

Inflation of prices for food is extremely understated. It has been much higher than what is reported for more than a decade, and completely went through the roof the past couple of years.

Silvio is an ignorant clod. The rate of inflation is down.

Did you see the phrase "rate of inflation" in the article?

Inflation has been a constant for most of history. Prices either go up slowly or quickly, but they nearly always go up. During the Depression, prices went down, making the prices of food unable to cover the past cost of producing it. So deflation is even worse, which is why farms went broke back then.

RE: Silvio is an ignorant clod. The rate of inflation is down.

Silvio did not talk about RATE of inflation in the article. Please re-read.

The price of a gallon of regular gas in my area was $2.50 in January 2021.

Today, it has been fluctuating between $3.40 to $3.69 the past 3 months. That’s a little better than nearly $4.00 early this year.

I’m sure the RATE of gas inflation has slowed compared to 9 months ago. But hey, that’s still over 40% higher than when Trump left office. Small comfort.

Same goes for food and rent.

You don’t understand what a rate is.
