Nikki Haley: Let CEOs Import Workers and Graduates They ‘Need’
Breitbart ^ | 11/11/2023 | Neil Munro

Posted on 11/11/2023 6:07:27 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

American CEOs should be allowed to import all the foreign workers they say they “need,” Nikki Haley told supporters at a New Hampshire campaign stop.

“So for too long, Republican and Democrat presidents dealt with immigration based on a [annual] quota,” she told the roomful of supporters:

Nimarata Haley is not eligible to be President. At the time of her birth, her parents were citizens of a foreign country.

She has a BS degree in accounting.

I'll stack my BBA in Public Accounting against hers any day of the week. My degree has an added bonus: an unofficial minor in Critical Thinking.

I had the same professor for more than 30 semester hours. He never used numbers, taught the philosophy behind each topic. His tests, mid-term and final, were all essay questions. Of the five questions, at least two required the answer to start with, "Based on the information you've given me, I cannot answer this question." Then you had to explain why.

I went into the Army after college, not in Finance Corps, but in Air Defense Artillery. My last two years in Germany were spent in the Supply Section of my battalion. Word spread fast that I had an accounting degree, higher HQ knew they couldn't mess with us on financial matters. One of the best jobs I ever had.

I'm still working, now for a real estate company in Dallas. I've been focused on one of our resorts, doing the forensic work for a potential lawsuit. The range of fraud and theft is approximately $10 million, all easily discovered.

I'm unimpressed with recent college grads who majored in accounting, and I'll leave it at that.

Imported workers = lower wages. That’s how wages have been artificially suppressed for decades.

That's a very important point. Nikki Haley and the rest of the chamber of commerce Republicans want to push down the cost of labor. Instead of creating and supporting industrial and economic policies which increase the ability of people to earn a good living they want to push down everyone's wages.

If US companies had to hire Americans they would. And they would ensure that our education system taught the skill sets and values they needed in their employees, and they would page the wages they had to in order to grow their businesses.

Instead, Nikki would like US companies to import cheap foreign labor, so US citizens get paid less, or are unable to get good paying jobs.

No thanks Nikki.

With all of the competition among foreign students to come to this country for an education

A big part of the problem is that US universities would rather have students from foreign countries, many of whom are willing to pay full price, than American students who are less likely to pay full price. At many US universities a significant portion of the available openings for students are taken up by foreign students. That keeps American kids from learning the skills the companies claim they need.

it was extremely discouraging to see American entry-level STEM professionals who seemed to have fifth-grade reading and writing skills, and brought all kinds of stunted personality traits to the work place.

Unfortunately the results of our corrupted and failing education system are becoming obvious. But a lot of the imported workers aren't much better.

A lot of the ideas imported with foreign workers aren't that helpful either, since many of them don't see the benefits of a free and open society, and certainly don't have any kind of patriotic feelings for our nation.

“ I am a STEM professional. ”

Is this large print and bold font unsupported claim your ‘Get out of jail free’ card? Does underlining “am” make it more believable?

Rather than make a cogent, reasoned assertion , you wield your STEM ‘credentials’ like a stick to beat down challengers.

Maybe you should have taken more liberal arts college courses to learn how to formulate a compelling and effective argument.

I wasn’t bragging. Go back and read the chain of posts before that. The jackass who posted a response to my previous post scolded me for focusing on blue collar workers when the real immigration problem is in STEM fields.

I simply pointed out that I never said anything about blue collar workers in my initial post, and even explicitly mentioned college graduates in STEM fields. I can’t even speak to the impact of immigration on blue collar fields because I don’t work in one.

No wonder the fine people who manage this website are having so much difficulty raising money these days. It seems like most of the Freepers with any brains left a long time ago.

I am a STEM professional.

Hey Alberta, do I have a girl for you.

exDemMom has had "biology, physics, several kinds of chemistry, genetics, ..."

AND Calculus.

She says she has a PhD in biochemistry and knows more about RNA ("molecular biology") than her thesis advisor, who is widely credited with pioneering mRNA technology.

I'm sorry it didn't work out with Joe Isuzu, Dingbat.

Maybe he was just scared off by your mighty brain and G'RRRRL power.

Common sense tells me too few Americans are willing or able to complete STEM education to meet the growing need because of unfair competition and reduced/suppressed wags.

Dear, I fixed it because you have no common sense.

From what I’ve seen by actually teaching at the college level part-time, its poor K12 preparation and a culture of laziness not a sense of unfair competition from foreigners that discourages Tom, Dick\Jane & Harry USCITs from STEM careers.

By the way there’s way way more to STEM then network engineering!
