Stephanie Clifford - better known to the world as Stormy Daniels - was the headliner at Savannah’s club in Harrisburg Friday night.
Until she wasn’t.
The former adult film star, currently at the center of the criminal case against former President Donald J. Trump over hush money payments designed to buy her silence about a one-night stand with the then-Republican candidate during the 2016 presidential race, never showed Friday.
And all of a sudden a night of bawdy burlesque turned into a mystery.
David Wendell, who books Clifford’s appearances at adult clubs like Savannah’s through his business, Centerfold Features, said his client was supposed to drive to Harrisburg Friday after doing a comedy show in New York City Thursday night.
“She’d been there (Savannah’s) before in years past, and she was excited to go,” Wendell said, who last spoke with Clifford to confirm plans on Monday.
But Wendell said he was never able to make contact with Clifford Friday, something that is very out of character for a woman he described as a show business professional.
“Things happen, like a flight gets delayed or she gets sick. But it’s never been a no-call, no-show type of thing like it is tonight,” the manager said. “So I really don’t know what’s going on.
“I checked her social media. She hasn’t been on it for the past day. I called the hotel (in Harrisburg), and I’m like: ‘Hey, can you connect me to her room?’ And they were like: ‘Well they haven’t checked in.... Hopefully, nothing happened, but I don’t know. As of right now, I don’t know what’s going on.”
Clifford had appeared in about 150 adult films and was considered among that niche industry’s biggest stars when the then-27-year-old met Trump at the American Century Championship in 2006, held at Edgewood Tahoe golf course in Nevada.
Clifford has said they had consensual sex after Trump tried to interest her in appearing on his reality television franchise, “The Apprentice.”
Ten years later, in the waning weeks of the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump attorney Michael Cohen arranged a payment of $130,000 as part of a negotiated agreement to keep Clifford from talking about her sexual encounter with Trump.
Clifford had been in talks to go on “Good Morning America” that fall, and, according to The Wall Street Journal, which broke the story about the hush money payment in January 2018, after the payment she cut off contact with the network without telling her story.
This April, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 counts of falsifying Trump Organization business records related to his reimbursements of Cohen for payments made to Clifford. The case is tentatively scheduled to go to trial in New York state court in March.
At Savannah’s Friday night, owner Phil Dobson instructed his staff to make full refunds to the roughly 300 patrons who’d bought tickets for the exclusive Stormy Daniels show - essentially meaning they were now going to get a night at the strip club without the standard $10 cover.
At least one round of free shots was also poured.
“We’re going to take care of the people that came,” Dobson said. “We don’t want to upset people. We want to provide something for them for their time, which we will do.”
He was just as concerned for his missing star.
“She’s very nice. She’s very friendly. And she’s very professional, so this is completely out of her character,” Dobson said. “We’ll do the best we can to keep our customers happy and, hopefully, we’ll find out what happened with Stormy... That may be the story.”

This sure sounds bad.
Arkancide was my first thought.
But why would the Clintøbamanistas want to pull the trigger at this time?
This is nothing more than a flimsy excuse to resurrect memories of the scandal.
The audience must have appreciated her absence.
I thought her and Trump were over.
Is there nobody to rid me of this meddling witch.....?
the incident was almost 20 years ago. seriously, who cares?
do they think we like Trump because he’s a saint or a monk?
he’s a billionaire. if he wanted to get his freak on consensually... it’s none of my business.
just like it’s none of my business how much dick barry had to suck to earn the nickname ‘bathhouse barry’

She couldn’t get out of her paddock.
That’s most likely it.
Probably asleep somewhere. That would wear me slam out.
Hillary setting up trump
Didn’t Cohen admit to providing payment to Mizz Clifford out of his own funds?
Thought that is what I heard last Spring.
We like Trump because he's the war time president America NEEDS at this moment to defeat the communist coup d'état .
“Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 counts of falsifying Trump Organization business records related to his reimbursements of Cohen for payments made to Clifford”
Cohen’s credibility is in the shitter.
She’s gone to ground, or been ‘persuaded’ to go to ground.
