Sobbing Trump codefendant Jenna Ellis flips on ex-prez, says she has ‘deep remorse’
The New York Post ^ | 10/24/2023 | Steven Nelson

A third attorney who falsely claimed the 2020 election was stolen flipped Tuesday and agreed to cooperate in the criminal case against former President Donald Trump in Georgia — saying she had “deep remorse” for her actions.

Jenna Ellis, 38, tearfully said she “failed” to do “due diligence” on claims that the election was stolen through fraud in swing states including Georgia, where President Biden beat Trump by fewer than 12,000 votes — joining former Trump attorneys Sidney Powell and Ken Chesebro in also pleading guilty.

“I believe in and I value election integrity,” she went on. “If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump in these post-election challenges.”

Ellis concluded through tears, “For those failures of mine, your honor, I have taken responsibility already before the Colorado bar, who censured me. And I now take responsibility before this court and apologize to the people of Georgia.”

Ellis is expected to receive a sentence of 5 years of probation, $5,000 in restitution and 100 hours of community service — in exchange for having no contact with the media or codefendants and cooperating and testifying at other trials in the 19-person RICO case including Trump.

“I relied on others, including lawyers with many more years of experience than I, to provide me with true and reliable information, especially since my role involved speaking to the media and to legislators in various states,” Ellis said in a Fulton County courtroom Tuesday.

“What I did not do, but should have done, your honor, was to make sure that the facts the other lawyers alleged to be true were in fact true.

"the pressure is too much for most people. The Democrats are vicious and want to ruin you and take away your livelihood if you don’t think like them."

And the Republicans do nothing. 😠

Every trial has a certain amount of show. I believe that there are credible reasons for this trial.

Yes, that is what I have asked you to explain, because I see no credible reasons for this trial.

As for guilt and innocence the trial will bear that out.

You must not have very much experience or very much observation of trials. I am aware of far too many trials that were utterly botched. Innocent men being convicted is far too common.

They may prevail. I don’t believe they will.

Not with an Atlanta Jury they won't. It doesn't matter what the charges, an Atlanta Jury will convict them. They would operate just like a DC jury.

Put these trials in a conservative state, and they wouldn't even dare bring these charges. They are only engaging in this because they know they can get away with it using their biased juries in Atlanta.

Explain what Team Trump was doing was legit by answering each of the counts.

I will not grant any credibility to anything they say.

The burden of proof is on the prosecution. They have to prove their claims, nobody has to disprove them.

Except in Atlanta of course. Any Atlanta jury will simply convict because of bias. Doesn't matter what the charges are.

As for where I belong, I thought this whole issue was about free speech, yet it’s suggested that some should either shut up or go elsewhere.

So far as i'm concerned, you can say anything you like, but having done so, you cannot expect to receive no rebuttal or criticism for it.

But I don't own the place, and those who do have made it clear it is intended as a conservative message board, and so they tend to frown on commentary they see as anti-conservative.

I’ve observed many trials. Yes, some are botched. Some by defense. Some by prosecution. Some by juries.

Frankly, juries should be open sponges taking in testimony and how it aligns with statutes and not whether they are liberal or conservative. You’re looking for nullification based on worldview and not evidence/testimony and how that aligns with statutes.

Maybe if you’ve got the goods on Dominion maybe you could have help save Fox 3/4 of a billion dollars.

Did you bother to keep up with what was going on between Fox and Dominion? Fox capitulated without a fight. Apparently they cared more about not helping Trump than they did about 3/4ths of a billion dollars.

Many people watching tended to think there was some sort of fix involved.

And so far as i've been able to determine, Dominion was never worth 3/4th of a billion dollars and never would have been.

Then why cross examine prosecution witnesses? Oh, that’s right. To undermine, discredit and disprove their evidence and testimony.

I don’t automatically grant credibility to either side. I watch what they file and how they conduct their presentations.

About Fox. It had nothing to do with not helping Trump and everything to do with throwing good money after bad defending themselves. Like Trump and Rudy and Sidney and Lindell and the others, they had nothing to back up their claims. To date, none have filed their proof? Why?

She was trying to save her neck.. Her life out of prison.
Justice has no mercy.. They were going to use her as an example... The same with the other attorney last week.

These women can’t be put in prison like the justice dept does to the men who dare stand with Trump.

Do you folks realize.. Do you know anything about communism?.. Do you know what is happening to our country with the dems in there.. With barry/Biden administration?

We are being watched.. Listened to.. And taking out whomever they choose.. No one left to stop them.

My new dentist.. A young Asian man. He came to the US age 8 yrs old.. Escaping Cambodia with his parents. He sees what is happening here.. And most Americans don’t..

How can any one vote for Biden?. How can anyone vote for a man who doesn’t know where he is.. A man who opened the border.. A treasonous act.. A man starting wars.. Taking money from nations.. A man who has no care for this country.. A man bringing the US to communism...

Women’s prisons are quite different than male prisons. While not a walk in the park, it’s generally not all that bad.

About Fox. It had nothing to do with not helping Trump and everything to do with throwing good money after bad defending themselves.

Dershowitz said they are utterly nucking futs to do what they did. I hear he knows a thing or two about the law.

Dominion absolutely did not have a legitimate case. Their claim was that Fox allowed someone to talk about them on the air. Yes, people get to voice their own opinions when the networks allow it.

If anything said was libelous, then Dominion can sue the person who said it, not the company that carried the airwaves.

The case is merit-less right on the face of it. It should have been dismissed with prejudice and everyone filing it should have been sanctioned.

But Fox caved for absolutely no perceivable legal reason. It would have cost them far less to fight it than to settle it, so their reasons for settling it had nothing to do with the money.

Tucker was "fired" about the same time, and a lot of people believe the two things are linked.

Like Trump and Rudy and Sidney and Lindell and the others, they had nothing to back up their claims.

And how do you know this?

To date, none have filed their proof? Why?

Are you kidding? You really haven't been keeping up with these election fraud cases. Judges won't let them file any evidence. They argue firstly "no injury yet", and then they argue "standing", and finally they argue "laches."

The courts are of the incompetent won't do their Job rigged Kangaroo variety.

So why file when a Judge won't let you?

the state offered a deal so not to have a trial, because there case is weak. but now everyone they are offering a deal to has to testify against the others.

They have. Powell, Rudy, My Pillow Guy. But Fox as a corporation facilitated those claims. Claims the knew or thought we’re not factual. That’s why they got sued too.

Nope. Allowing people to speak their opinions on the airwaves is not libel by the corporation. They just carry other people's words, like a telephone company.

The legal "injury" if any, is from the people speaking, not the infrastructure carrying their words.

Claims the knew or thought we’re not factual.

So? People get on TV and lie every day. Every Democrat official constantly lies, and everyone knows it. Just because you think someone is lying doesn't mean you have a responsibility to stop them.

Fox has no liability for what other people said during interviews. Again, anyone who's not a nutjob would realize that Fox has no liability in this, and they settled without a fight.

Something else is going on here.

Bear in mind that the claims were reiterated by Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham et al. Is Fox not responsible for what their own people are saying in their programs?
