Sobbing Trump codefendant Jenna Ellis flips on ex-prez, says she has ‘deep remorse’
The New York Post ^ | 10/24/2023 | Steven Nelson

Posted on 10/24/2023 7:46:29 AM PDT by thegagline

A third attorney who falsely claimed the 2020 election was stolen flipped Tuesday and agreed to cooperate in the criminal case against former President Donald Trump in Georgia — saying she had “deep remorse” for her actions.

Jenna Ellis, 38, tearfully said she “failed” to do “due diligence” on claims that the election was stolen through fraud in swing states including Georgia, where President Biden beat Trump by fewer than 12,000 votes — joining former Trump attorneys Sidney Powell and Ken Chesebro in also pleading guilty.

“I believe in and I value election integrity,” she went on. “If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump in these post-election challenges.”

Ellis concluded through tears, “For those failures of mine, your honor, I have taken responsibility already before the Colorado bar, who censured me. And I now take responsibility before this court and apologize to the people of Georgia.”

Ellis is expected to receive a sentence of 5 years of probation, $5,000 in restitution and 100 hours of community service — in exchange for having no contact with the media or codefendants and cooperating and testifying at other trials in the 19-person RICO case including Trump.

“I relied on others, including lawyers with many more years of experience than I, to provide me with true and reliable information, especially since my role involved speaking to the media and to legislators in various states,” Ellis said in a Fulton County courtroom Tuesday.

“What I did not do, but should have done, your honor, was to make sure that the facts the other lawyers alleged to be true were in fact true.

I paid a LOT of attention to these hearings and presentations when they were happening. I still believe the lawyers had a sh!tload of irrefutable proof of glaring fraud. We’ve seen some with our own eyes. For them to lie now, back off, and take pleas is wrong. But they may want to live, so there’s that.

I’m no fan of Jenna as a person, but she, Rudy, etc., did a good job. IMO

You can question it. You must do it in a legal way. It was the behind the scenes activities that got Powell, Ellis and Chesboro. And likely others. And you can’t trash a company or person with false statements.

See my post at #3.

Thegagmeline is one of those who is all in when the government is leveraged via sponsored and supported Lawfare and full weaponization of government to prosecute political enemies.

Plays for the other team.

Says all you need to know about that entity..

I’m not buying this whole thing. Why are these rabid commie traitors letting everyone off with plea deals to misdemeanors when they could be putting them in prison? And don’t tell me its because they will testify against Trump.

I’ve stated numerous times that I believe all these indictments against Trump are fake. It would not surprise me at this point if 18 of the 19 do not take the same plea deal.

Trump’s going to run this presidential immunity case to the SCOTUS where they will rightly rule for him and all these fake cases go away.

You may well be right. This is not the country I knew in my youth. Nor would I wish to be young again in these circumstances.

Not the feds. Georgia state prosecution. And you’re missing nothing, LR. All this if 1A protected; none of it is criminally actionable. Yet the defendants are faced with the choice of spending perhaps a million bucks they don’t have in attorneys fees, going before a biased jury, and wading through perhaps years of expensive appeals on convictions that corrupt appellate courts might not overturn.

It’s very hard to speak TRUTH with a long prison sentence starring you in the face- even though you are innocent and spoke truth. Easier to just take the plea deal.

I know a prisoner who had a vision from God about standing on truth and not taking the plea deal. He has been in prison for almost 6 years for what would have normally been a 6 month sentence. He said as a Christian he cannot lie to God and country and himself- so, his sentence has 14 more years!!!!!

TRUMP is right about he is just in the way and we have thousands of citizens who have cratered to the unjust system to be out of jail.

Exactly. GAGBALL is never-Trump trash. His previous account probably got zotted in the 2016 campaign so he reappeared in 2017. Here are his first few posts:

And that is why they charged 19 people. They knew they could turn a few with deals they couldn’t refuse. What these people like Jenna don’t understand is that after doing what the democrats demand, they’ll be tossed on the trash heap. They’ll never let them get their lives back. She’ll be lucky to ever have another professional position again. She’s toast. Ask the Russians, Chinese, Cuban etc., who went through the purges. They confessed, gave the State what they wanted and then disappeared.

It isn’t the difference of opinion about what Trump should have or shouldn’t have done, IMO. There is plenty of room and leeway to fully allow for differences of opinion there, and some may be valid.

This isn’t that.

It is about supporting the legal persecution of your political enemies as in done in Leftist regimes and other banana republic states, and Thegagmeline is fully in support.

To dimwitted to see this might be used against his candidate, or...

Against him.

Legal? You mean Party approved. There is oodles of illegality that is tacitly allowed, depending on affiliation. Falling back on technicalities and “gotta be classy” is so very Republican, and explains how the nation was captured.

First Amendment eviscerated by combined action of the government, media, judges, prosecutors, and other assorted Marxists. Intimidation, threats of significant prison time, ruined reputations, destroyed careers, etc.
Free speech, freedom of assembly, redress of grievances, etc all gone.

How in the world did we arrive at this terrible state?
