Poll: Gov. Beshear leads in governor’s race against Cameron

FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — A new poll shows Gov. Andy Beshear leading in the race for governor against Attorney General Daniel Cameron, a little more than a month before election day.

A new Emerson College Polling/FOX 56 News poll asked 450 registered voters questions between Oct. 1 and 3 about the upcoming election. Emerson College found Beshear leading with 49% support in the upcoming November gubernatorial election, while a third of voters (33%) plan to support Republican Cameron.

“Governor Beshear not only holds the majority of Democratic voters’ support at 85%, but also 44% of independent voters’ support and 28% of Republican voters’ support,” Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, said. “Cameron has a weaker base of support within his own party with 53%, and trails Beshear among independent voters with 25%.”

According to the poll, 5% of people plan to vote for someone else, while 13% are undecided.

Beshear has previously held high approval ratings. In August, Morning Consult Pro found him to be the fifth most-liked governor in the U.S. with an approval rating of 64%, with him having a higher approval rating among Republicans than any other Democrat governor...

“While Biden is an unpopular figure among Kentucky voters, Beshear has been able to separate himself from the president: he holds a 66% approval rating within his own party, and a 34% approval among both independent and Republican voters,” Kimball said...

While Cameron (R) is behind in this poll, a majority of Kentuckians continue to show support for Trump. The poll asked who people would vote for in a hypothetical 2024 presidential election between Trump and Biden. Trump held a 29-point lead over Biden, 55% to 26%.

Ky. is republican and the voters should carry him over the finish line. They won’t. It’s race and republicans won’t admit it. Same with Robinson in NC.

Well, Beshear is compelled (by law passed by the GOP legislature) to appoint a Republican when Zero’s Bitch Mitch (or Pedo’s Bitch Mitch) keels over. However, Beshear has made it plain he intends to contest this law and install a Demonrat hack and let it drag out through the courts where he hopes a friendly judicial thug will let him do it. This should be a “hugh and series” point that AG Cameron should point out in campaign ads that Beshear thinks he’s above the law.

McConnell looks after himself. He also knows where all the bodies are buried. The Demonrats, conversely, know where Mitch’s bodies are buried. They’ve never really run a serious candidate against him since he defeated the Dem incumbent back in 1984, but they also don’t want to risk taking him out and accidentally getting a Republican who doesn’t agree to the Derp State agenda. After all, what MAGA GOP Senate leader would just stand by while at least 14 GOP Senate races are stolen in three election cycles (and not even counting others going back decades) ? Mitch did.

“without McConnell who is a POS, we would have Merrick Garland as a Supreme Court Justice.“

I’m tired of that scumbag Mitch getting credit for not placing Garland . Mitch was holding it for HRC. He was absolutely convinced Trump was going to lose. He thought Trump had no chance of winning and said so. If he thought Trump was going to win he would have seated Garland bank it.

I also am in Kentucky and will vote for Cameron but I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of the situation.

Having said that I also am convinced Kentucky voters are extraordinarily ignorant.

It is as if they are still living in the 1930s and want both guns AND d
Food stamps.

Local issues such as the same kind of fraud that put McConnell back in and Beshear in in the first place?

**Mitch) keels over. However, Beshear has made it plain he intends to contest this law and install a Democrat hack**

It would probably go to court, something the rats would love-delays. The turtle could help Cameron by agreeing to step down if Cameron wins, thereby appointing his successor. Would more republicans then vote?

If Cameron loses POTUS Trump could then appoint Cameron to SCOTUS. Just think a mid-30’s Clarence Thomas.

He has run massive ads claiming Cameron will outlaw abortion for women in danger of dying from pregnancy.

I live here too... I agree with all that you said. But, the problem with abortion here is: the Beshear ads are TRUE. Abortion is currently totally illegal here, no exceptions.

This loss is on the Ky House and Senate. In 2019, they passed this harsh law, thinking it wouldn't matter. But, Roe v Wade was overturned, and this law went into effect. Republicans will get CRUSHED at the ballot box until they fix it.

It's hard for me to understand how someone would vote for Trump and then turn around and vote for Beshear.

Me too.. but, Cameron is allowing Beshear to take credit for Income tax cuts he OPPOSED! He did sign the bill... cause, he would have been over-ridden if he vetoed it... He's not THAT stupid. But, it really takes chutzpah for him to take credit for it.

And, Cameron has been SILENT on this... because, he has no money to make new ads. It's sad.

People vote for a guy who #1 in the Party.. They bring GOOD THINGS for us, when they are in the majority. That’s been Mitch.

He’s done good things in his career. HE ALONE stopped Merrick Garland from being on the SCOTUS. Now, he’s just hanging on because, if he retires.. our Dem Gov will appoint a Dem Senator.

Beshear is an ultra far left governor, running ads featuring “conservatives” and “Republicans” talking about how they are going to vote for him.

Once again, as in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, and now again in 2023, the GOP base has sat on their behinds and kept their wallets closed. Giving the Left / Democrats every advantage possible...then just cry it was all due to fraud / the establishment while they left their own candidates just twisting in the wind under an onslaught.

He's featuring them in his ads. Trump supporters and "conservatives" voting for the ultra-left Andy Beshear.

While that is a factor, I’m of the opinion that it’s the ownership of the teacher’s unions and the government employees’ votes that will do the most damage.

They firmly believe that a Republican governor would “steal” their pensions, while Baby Doc Beshear lies, claiming he can kick the can down the road indefinitely - which they also believe.

State employees must be in the state pension plan and must have contributions deducted. Because the state needs their contributions to pay current benefits. I know one state employee that considers her monthly deduction a fee to hold her job. She is doing a private plan because she has no expectation of a guarantee from the state.

That's not correct. It does allow exceptions for the life of the mother.

The elder Beshear did raid the pension fund and the younger Beshear proposed it, but was blocked by the GOP legislature.

Local issues such as the same kind of fraud that put McConnell back in and Beshear in in the first place?

McConnell won in a landslide and Beshear won due to Bevin repeatedly putting his foot in his mouth one too many times - including on the eve of the election calling for toll roads in northern Kentucky, sealing his fate by turning deep red counties light red or even light blue.

It’s race and republicans won’t admit it. Same with Robinson in NC.

Cameron is already an elected official and everyone knew he was black when they elected him in a landslide in 2019. His opponent seemingly tried to use his race against him by actually using Cameron's own b-roll footage in negative ads - for the entire ad - seemingly to emphasize the fact he was black. He won the supposedly backward "racist" areas by the largest margins.

Everyone also knew Jeanine Hampton was black as well. Bevin did not hide her from his campaign ads.

The voters in his state Senate district know Donald Douglas is black.

Tim Scott doesn't have any trouble being elected in South Carolina. Robinson is already an elected official in North Carolina - and they knew he was black when they voted for him.

Your comments are (obviously) false.

Polls are bogus. Sadly, elections are becoming bogus as well. The only hope is that the ones who cheat are sick of the Democrats this time around.
