FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — A new poll shows Gov. Andy Beshear leading in the race for governor against Attorney General Daniel Cameron, a little more than a month before election day.

A new Emerson College Polling/FOX 56 News poll asked 450 registered voters questions between Oct. 1 and 3 about the upcoming election. Emerson College found Beshear leading with 49% support in the upcoming November gubernatorial election, while a third of voters (33%) plan to support Republican Cameron.

“Governor Beshear not only holds the majority of Democratic voters’ support at 85%, but also 44% of independent voters’ support and 28% of Republican voters’ support,” Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, said. “Cameron has a weaker base of support within his own party with 53%, and trails Beshear among independent voters with 25%.”

According to the poll, 5% of people plan to vote for someone else, while 13% are undecided.

Beshear has previously held high approval ratings. In August, Morning Consult Pro found him to be the fifth most-liked governor in the U.S. with an approval rating of 64%, with him having a higher approval rating among Republicans than any other Democrat governor...

“While Biden is an unpopular figure among Kentucky voters, Beshear has been able to separate himself from the president: he holds a 66% approval rating within his own party, and a 34% approval among both independent and Republican voters,” Kimball said...

While Cameron (R) is behind in this poll, a majority of Kentuckians continue to show support for Trump. The poll asked who people would vote for in a hypothetical 2024 presidential election between Trump and Biden. Trump held a 29-point lead over Biden, 55% to 26%.

Trump holds a 55% to 26% lead over Biden, but has no coattails in this election. Hard to explain those numbers … must be local issues

"450 registered voters"

You can dismiss such a poll.

That’s usually discounted if the candidate is sufficiently MAGA.

Dr. Oz and Herschel Walker were MAGA but were terrible, JD Vance was MAGA and a very good candidate.

I don’t know anything about Cameron except he’s black, MAGA and was AG of the State, he’s a known candidate in KY.

The margin of error is ~4.6%.

Beshear is way outside of that.

How many black conservatives are we going to put up so we can get beat? Herscell Walker, Kari Lake, John James (senate), etc. Blacks won’t vote for them and a segment of conservatives won’t either.

28% of Republican voters’ support .... and therein lies, yet another, rub.

Republican’s supporting a Democrat. I’m betting that this 28% are 100% behind the 25 that didn’t vote for Jordan or the 116 that voted, like cowards, in secret.

Worst part about the secret vote is, you’ll never know who did and who didn’t vote for Jordan.

They’ve all proven what lying scumbags they all are, so if asked they’ll just say “why no, I didn’t vote against Jordan in the secret vote” and you’ll have no way of knowing.

Pro-abortion fanatics overwhelmingly support the Democrat party. We understand that. Other than that, what do voters see in the Democrats? Why are so many voters okay with open borders, rising crime, inflation, and war? These are vomit-inducing questions.

Fake news strikes again. Election day is on November 7th. That is 2 weeks away, not more than a month away.

It is quite rare for a KY Republican to win a governor’s race.

Yeah 28 % of Republicans will vote Democrat while Trump is miles ahead - sounds like a push poll.

What made Herschel Walker a terrible candidate?

Was he not ‘politician’ enough for you? Was it because he was black? Please, do tell. This site is anonymous, so if it was because he was black, feel free to say so.

Or was it that he didn’t have the right pedigree of college, jobs in government, etc etc?

I don’t know, but right about now, it seems like the USA needs 535 folks that are not lawyers, career politicians, Wall St clowns or the sons/daughters of any UNIPARTY/Establishment/Donor Class/Lobbyist hack.

I’ll take some small business owners, truck drivers, plumbers, cops, veterans that came from the enlisted ranks(Crenshaw not included) and some ditch diggers.
