@RepThomasMassie
Incredible news: Jim Jordan just won the GOP conference nomination for Speaker of the House!
He received 152 votes on the secret ballot but he will need 217 votes on the floor of the House next week to become Speaker.
Please encourage your congressman to vote for Jim Jordan!

It does not matter a great deal. SOTH election is not secret ballot. And Jordan is the only nominee. So there is less chance of splitting votes with another republican.
You may still get your wish. Depends on how long this drags out.
I think 217 is the magic number, not 218. I believe there are two vacancies, so the total number of voting members is 433 if everyone shows up.
“IRC, there are 222 Republicans in the House. It’s their votes he needs to get.”
No kidding; no Democrats are going to vote for him.
“I don’t think Jordan will get any Democrat votes.”
He could. As mouthy as he’s been all these years, he really hasn’t accomplished much for our side. The RATs could be perfectly OK with that and believe it’s an acceptable compromise.
Think Darrel Issa or Trey Gowdy.
The wisdom of the wisest group of people who ever lived, the Founders, still rings true

Scott has not left the stage.
I read 55 GOP refuse to back him, they are tired of conservatives messing things up. It will be a miracle. I wish they would vote him in and get a speaker and give him a chance vs. wallowing around with no speaker making our party look like a bunch of idiots.
“I think 217 is the magic number, not 218. I believe there are two vacancies, so the total number of voting members is 433 if everyone shows up.”
I was not aware of the vacancies; the 218 is with a full complement of 435 members. If there are two vacancies, then, yes, the total needed would be 217.
Votes not over the one that counts is next week, call your congressman and tell him to vote for Jorden.
I guess Scot has left so ignore my last post please.
Republicans who aren’t popular here aren’t any more liked by Democrats. Issa and Gowdy may be good examples of that. Romney, Cheney, and Kinzinger are the exceptions, not the rule. Plus, the Democrats have strong internal discipline, and their leaders are enjoying this circus.
•Cheney amps up Jordan criticism: GOP will lose House and ‘deserve’ itIOW nickcarraway is lying douche.
NOW WHO IS THE FRINGE REPUBLICANS!
You sound like Kilmeade.
How about just tell him to vote for him
“Liz Cheney wants Jim Jordan for Speaker?
Doesn’t speak well, for JJ”.
Excuse me, but that is a really stupid thing to say. JJ detests Cheney.
Really stupid....
I wrote my Republican congressman, who was a supporter of Speaker McCarthy, today. and asked him to vote for Jim Jordan.
DO EET, LIGHT IT UP. RUSH LIMBAUGH TIME. SEIZE THE SWITCHBOARDS!
