A multi-front war now threatens Israel after fire from Lebanon, Syria - analysis
Jerusalem Post ^ | 10/11/23 | Seth J. Frantzman

The IDF said several launches from Syria into Israeli territory were identified.

The IDF said that “part of the launches crossed into Israeli territory and presumably fell in an open area.” Israel responded with artillery fire.

Meanwhile, near Gaza, IDF soldiers killed two terrorists in the area of Kibbutz Re'im and killed another two terrorists in the area of Kibbutz Mefalsim. In Lebanon, terrorists fired an anti-tank missile toward a military vehicle near Avivim. The conflict that Israel has prepared for appears to be emerging.

It is increasingly clear that a large number of incidents are coming together. This includes the horrendous October 7 invasion by Hamas that led to 29 breaches in the fence around Gaza and saw terrorists attack 20 communities. The full scale of the attack is still being understood but it is known that 1,000 people were murdered and many communities destroyed. Thousands were injured. Israel has retaken the border area and called up 300,000 people.

“God bless Israel.”

You and I have often disagreed down through the ages, but on this one we agree perfectly.

I was glad to hear we were sending more A-10s. I not sure that we are going to let Israel use them but it is comforting to know the capacity is there.

This is one thing the West seems to struggle with. The Islamic terrorist’s groups are not allies. They may play propaganda games claiming to support each other but they are competitors. Each wants to lead the extermination of Israel. They don’t want the other group to win any victories. So it more likely they will sit back and watch Hamas get pounded for a while. What we seeing right now is a typical terrorist war of nerves. They doing their normal harassment attacks knowing in the current situation it going to have a magnified effect

In control??!! Syria is having its own 5 way civil war and we are a part of it. My fear is this pan muzzie thing causes the parties to srt aside their differences and focus on Israel. The Turks could propose this. Then we and the Russians are left hanging. The Russians at least by the Med. We are down with the Kurds, stuck between Syrians, Turks and Iranians. Not a good place to be.

I doubt it. Most of the Arabs are annoyed with what’s happening in Gaza. Erdogan isn’t but he’s a Turk, not an Arab. He wants to bring back the Ottoman Empire.

Have the enemies of Israel concluded that their ally in the White House is running out of time?

I would just tweak your plan slightly. Get the Sunni Muslim countries that have signed peace deals with Israel to accept them. Disperse them throughout the M.E. Within a generation, they will become almost indistinguishable from the Muslim citizens already living in those countries. And they’ll be able to live more normal lives rather than being hostages to a band of homicidal maniacs.

Many, maybe even most of them, are decedents of Muslims who immigrated to the area around 100 years ago. Their historical connection to Gaza is tenuous to begin with.

Just read on GP with vid, APCs approaching Israeli border from Jordan. That,if true,is a shock. I cannot believe Abdullah would go there. A third of his army is deployed as UN peacekeepers in a dozen nation, but what’s left is the finest fighting force, save the IDF, in the Middle East. If true this is not good.

“Hezbollah is depleted from the Syrian Civil War. Assad doesn’t need more problems.”

“West Bank Fatah/Palestinian Authority leadership has been quiet. They don’t like Israel very much, but they dislike Hamas even more”

Who else hates Hamas (Muslim Brotherhood)?

The Governments of Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

As much as Iran might want everybody to rush in and get themselves killed for Iran’s sake, a lot of folks in the region would be content to sit out while Hamas is destroyed in detail.

The regimes in Turkey and Qatar would be saddened though.

I am certain the use of Israeli nukes is being discussed. I fear that if Israel is struggling with a multi front war, the mad Mullahs in Tehran might launch a nuke toward Tel Aviv. I believe Iran has been cooperating with North Korea’s nuclear program and may well have a tested North Korean nuclear weapon that could be quickly fired at Israel with little fear of US retaliation.

Border patrol. Jordan has only 10mm people. They don't want 5mm filthy parasites running from West Bank to their land.

Yep...and on SEVERAL levels. For years, engineers have said the best way to destroy all tunnels is to drill 600-900m down and detonate 90-110kt nuke. Would destroy a majority of tunnels in the region. Even 20-30 micro nukes could be used in a Operation Plowshare type of operation to 1) destroy tunnels, flood the crater line with sea water and create near impenetrable perimeter.

Lots of nuclear engineering with peaceful nuclear explosions to include making artificial harbors, Nicaragua atomic canal, hillside excavation, LNG fracking, oil fire extinguishing, deep ocean oil well sealing (they contemplated the big oil spill in the gulf as a last resort) etc.
