Portland public safety commissioner warns people NOT to call 911 unless they're at risk of death, as woke Dem-run city struggles to cope with slew of ODs

Portland's public safety commissioner has told people to not call 911 unless they're at risk of death - as the Democrat-run city continues to struggle with rampant drug use and a slew of overdoses.

Commissioner Rene Gonzalez told locals that its emergency service hotline was overwhelmed with people calling about members of the public suffering fentanyl overdoses. Oregon decriminalized hard drug use three years ago.

As a result, he urged people to only call 911 in a life or death emergency, as it was revealed paramedics had been called to deal with eight suspected fentanyl overdoses in the city's once-tony Pearl District.

Portland's neighborhoods have been overrun with crime, homelessness, and drugs since the pandemic - and despite pouring funds into relief initiatives, little change is occurring on the streets of the city.

Commissioner Rene Gonzalez wrote on X today: 'Our 911 system is getting hammered this morning with a multiple person incident - multiple overdoses in northwest park blocks.

'Please do not call 911 except in event of life/death emergency or crime in progress (or chance of apprehending suspect).'

The warning came hours after eight people, who were seen snorting cocaine, suffered overdoses within just blocks of one another.

It's understood that the cocaine they were taking was likely laced with fentanyl.

Portland Fire and Rescue confirmed that eight people overdosed near Northwest Park Avenue and West Burnside Street just after 10am Monday.

Four people were rushed to hospital to be treated for the overdose.

The remaining four had Narcan, an opioid overdose reversal medicine, administered at the scene.

And if you are at risk of death, go ahead and call them. They will respond in three days, and leave a message asking you to complete a form online giving all the pertinent information. Someone will respond as soon as possible.

A sane culture would warn opium addicts not to call 911 because the EMTs prioritize all other calls and would let the surplus creatures experience the consequences of their choices.

Reps: It’s the job of government to enforce laws and prevent crime.

Dems: It’s the job of government to clean up the mess left behind by drug dealers and criminals.

The city of love?

**********

I’m 30 miles south of the Portlandia freak show.
One of the two phrases that Portland is associated with are accurate.

“The City that Works” is inaccurate.(They’re lazy bums)

“Keep Portland Weird” is very accurate.(Only Big Cities in California & Washington are weirder.)

“(Only Big Cities in California & Washington are weirder)”

Sorry, Portland easily beats Seattle for weirdness. It’s been Portland’s stated objective all along.
