ON A GOOD DAY

Our worth is tested every day. We are given the choice of being nice to people or uncharitable. We are given the choice of doing our work as well as we can or of goofing off. Some days it seems the tests are harder than on others, but every day brings with it some kind of test. Even the really good days!

To have everything go wonderfully for us, to feel like a million dollars, to have one of those days when nothing and nobody can upset us, they are days when we might think we don't need God. And so we pay Him little attention. MISTAKE! BIG MISTAKE! We must never forget our good days are God's gifts to give us a breather, a taste of heaven.

"Make no mistake about this," writes St. James, "Every genuine benefit comes from above, descending from the Father of the heavenly luminaries." Good days are made in heaven. Be sure to thank God for them.

How’s your weekend going so far? Have the temps stayed down at a tolerable level?

Hey there, radu!

It has been pretty nice over the weekend. Even better all this week. Nights into the low 60s. I still haven’t used one piece of cover when I sleep, so it’s not that cool. LOL! We’re supposed to get some rain, but you know how that works out.

Did you finally get some. Is Champ ready to go to work again? How were things at the museum this weekend?

Yay! Finally getting some decent weather down there! ‘Bout time! 60s at night is good sleeping-with-the-windows-open weather - - unless the air’s full of pollen or dust. LOL

Yup, I know about the “supposed to get some rain” and how that works out. We’re supposed to get some Thursday and Friday but we’ll see how that goes. I got no rain this past week while others got it and it’s so dry and dusty here. Champ gets a break for a while.

It was slow at the museum yesterday and I don’t know about today. I took the day off so I could stay out late last night. This weekend is my brother’s 50th high school reunion and I was friends with a lot of his friends. They always have a gathering the night before the official dinner and party and I go to those to see everyone. Had a great time last night.
My class didn’t have a 50th reunion because that was the year of the WuFlu Lockdowns. Last night made up for it since I had more friends in my brother’s class than my own. LOL

Yes, it is nice to not wake up sweating already. LOL! And the breeze feels so good when I go out to feed the kitties. I know they’re enjoying it, too.

I hope we both get some rain. We have it in the forecast every day, but I don’t trust them at all!

Good that you got to go to the reunion party. That’s more fun than working any ol’ day! Bet y’all had a lot of catching up to do.

You KNOW your kitties are enjoying the break in the heat. They’ve had a rough summer, no doubt. And now you don’t have to dread stepping out the door to feed them or for any other reason.

The west end of the country has several rain systems but the high sitting over us needs to move so the rain can move east. At least you have chances for rain every day. We have small chances only Thursday and Friday.

I did have a good time catching up last night but when I woke up, I wished I was at the museum. LOL It isn’t work at all. It’s fun. The ONLY downside is having to wake up early but I can deal with it two days a week, and there aren’t all that many weeks left until we close for winter.
