A New York judge on Tuesday found former President Trump liable for fraud, handing a major legal victory to New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) in her sprawling civil case over Trump’s businesses.
New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron granted James’s request to find Trump liable for the first of seven causes of action she has accused him of in the lawsuit.
Engoron simultaneously denied Trump’s demand to toss the entire suit without trying the case. The non-jury trial on the remaining matters is set to begin Monday, barring Trump’s separate, last-minute effort for a delay.
Engoron also granted James’s request to sanction five of Trump’s lawyers for bringing up already-dismissed arguments in court, ordering them to pay a $7,500 fine each.

Thanks for outing yourself.
Added to the list.
I also have a list that was kept at the time of Mike Lindell’s Fraud Forum. It includes everyone who disbelieved the CCP packet captures. Now that the Truth Light has shone and revealed, those doubters should likewise be exposed for the cretin they are.
Like who? Surely you aren’t dumb enough to think Trump was a lifelong liberal? I always thought, by your posting, you were a paid Chinese troll, but this pretty much proves it. Your lack of knowledge of American history both near and far past means you are either a foreigner or a really uneducated American.

Lol! You forgot to say “So there!”
Eric valued Mar A Lago at a billion dollars. What was he thinking?
Go back to sleep.
Democrat New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron rules in favor of Democrats...
Even after you get an offer for your property, you have to wait until mortgage loan is approved for the buyer. So the offering price has no valudity.
Since when is a person permitted to value their own property and holdings for the purpose of determining taxable value? Isn’t that what the tax assessor and property appraiser are for?
And just who was harmed if these evaluations were above market value?
Good points!
How many accounts do you have?
Now we know you’re getting paid.
I will make an offer for mar-a-Lago for 2 Billion. So what if my loan application is denied? The property is worth 2 Billion coz it is getting offers at that price. There is no law against making any offer you want.
Darn!
I kept it a secret for 23 years.
Will I get a refund on my FR contributions?
Any bank or commercial lender who extends a loan based on the applicant's self-reported value of the properties is a moron and should be out of the banking business today. Any lender with half a brain would know that responsible lending standards require a third-party appraisal on the properties in question.
This is why the judge in this farce of a case had to issue a summary judgement instead of going to trial ... because if it had gone to trial, we would have been treated to the spectacle of senior officers and C-suite people from top commercial lenders sitting on the witness stand and explaining how they breached their fiduciary duty to their companies and shareholders by extending the loans in the first place.
The other thing to remember is that the replacement cost is based only on the building and property improvements, not on the land itself. Trump properties in Manhattan are located on prime real estate -- or at least, what used to be prime real estate before the city turned into Mogadishu on the Hudson.
Why would I care?
The scope of what you’re talking about is nothing like this case. I think a lot of people don’t understand the ruling or have their head in the sand.
I won't argue that, of course, but isn't that an admission that Trump took advantage of this, for years (decades)? Do you honestly believe he didn't know what the square footage of his own property was? I won't say that's impossible, I'd just suggest it's unlikely. An obscure property, perhaps, but his own residence?

I'm not agreeing with the actions of the judge, or whether this is criminal or not, but rather the question of what Trump did is ethical, or not. I know many don't care about that, anymore, but I do. If you will lie about one thing, you will lie about something else.
Wow I was unaware I could get away with this. I too live in New York and tomorrow I’m going down to my bank and ask for a $100 million dollar loan and claim my 2003 Ford Taurus is worth $999 trillion dollars for collateral
