So sad, but the good news is the State and the Rich people there are willing to buy the land cheap. So at least they win.
dwmocrats always have a patsy to protect themselves. It is absolutely the governor’s fault as well.
WHAT KIND OF MORONIC RESPONSE IS THIS?!
If wishes were horses beggars would ride.
YOU SCREWED UP - IT’S YOUR FAULT.
Democrats are DESTROYING this country en masse with their idiocy, retarded and intentional mismanagement.
DRAG THESE BUMS OUT OF OFFICE.
Sounds like the higher ups have found their fall guy, not that the emergency manager doesn’t deserve a lot blame, he should be charged with a number of crimes, it looks like he will take the fall for the governor, state emergency response people, etc.
If Trump was President, the MSM would have laid every bit of this right at his feet.
Who was Herman Andaya reporting to prior to the fire?
Did they think to ask him any questions that may have helped
him change his policies?
Did they every have a question about, “What happens if there
is a big fire?”
This guy shouldn’t be the only guy that gets raked over the
coals. Whoever he reported to, they should have to answer
for this as well.
Who hired that person, and what were his qualifications?
Because from what I heard, this was a political hire and the person had no qualifications.
> But it is the case that that we’ve historically not used those kinds of warnings or fires.” <
So it’s his fault, but not really his fault.
Yeah, that's too bad. Why didn't the sirens alert the residents?
Gov. Haole really cares about his fellow Hawaiians.
Roll out the buses. The line of scapegoats will be quite long before this is all over.
The people rushing to buy the land should be the first murder suspects.
Who to blame?
No Republicans Jake, it’s Hawaii.

Unserious people are in charge at every level of government.
In the morning of January 13, 2018, an alert was accidentally issued via the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alert System over television, radio, and cellphones in the U.S. state of Hawaii, instructing citizens to seek out shelter due to an incoming ballistic missile. It concluded: “This is not a drill”. The message was sent at 8:07 a.m. local time. The state had not authorized civil defense outdoor warning sirens.
38 minutes and 13 seconds later, state officials blamed a miscommunication during a drill at the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency for the first message. David Ige, the governor, apologized for the erroneous alert. The Federal Communications Commission and the Hawaii House of Representatives launched investigations into the incident, leading to the resignation of the state’s emergency management administrator.
Was the Gov. on the island at the time? When did he find out about the fire?
He got elected last year because while lieutenant governor, he achieved fame as a branch covidian on socia media spewing corporate propaganda in a folksy, “in your face” manner. The low IQ masses (60% of Hawaii’s electorate) loved him after that.
And not for nothing, as a resident of the state, whenever you hear those horns, you head inland for higher ground ASAP. If those tsunami horns had been activated during a power outage (no tv, cellular, or internet) many more people would have died fleeing inland and into the fire, and the those local politicians would all be drawn and quartered alive.
The first thing they should is to take all of the electric supply underground.
Any sufficiently advanced mismanagement and incompetence is indistinguishable from malice and domestic enemy action.
