Judge Chutkan Was Given Trump’s DC Case: “Trump Is Doomed”
Independent Sentinel ^ | August 1, 2023 | By M Dowling -

Jack Smith is known as a legal hitman who has lost several high-profile cases at the Supreme Court. He managed to get the President of Kosovo imprisoned with no case, and he remains in prison now after three years.

His wife Katy Chevigny is the filmmaker for Becoming, the Michelle Obama flick. Of all the people Attorney General Merrick Garland could choose from, he chose this man. Now we find out the judge who will oversee his case in Democrat D.C. was appointed by Barack Obama and has a bad history with J6.

THE JUDGE

According to the court docket, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan will oversee the four-count federal case against former President Donald Trump.

She has been handing out stiff sentences for non-violent January 6 defendants and has previously ruled against Trump’s lawyers. She denied his request to assert Executive Privilege.

A four-count indictment of Donald Trump was announced this afternoon. The charges are Obstruction of an Official Proceeding, Conspiracy to Defraud the United States, Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding, and Conspiracy Against Rights. There are six co-conspirators.

JUDGE CHUTKAN THINKS J6 WAS AN INSURRECTION

At one hearing, Chutkan called January 6 protesters insurrectionists.

I want to interject here that even Jefferson Davis was not imprisoned for insurrection or anything. He lived to age 81 and died from an illness. This case appears to be set up to win at the expense of past precedent and the right to a jury of his peers, among other problems.

Speaking at a sentencing hearing for a nonviolent rioter who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of illegally demonstrating in the Capitol, Chutkan said that the rioter “did not go to the United States Capitol out of any love for our country … He went for one man.”

During the same hearing, she described the January 6 episode as “a violent mob seeking to overthrow the lawfully elected government,” adding that the crowd that day posed a “very real danger … to our democracy.”

Chutkan also said that rioters “soiled and defaced the halls of the Capitol and showed their contempt for the rule of law.”

“The country is watching to see what the consequences are for something that has not ever happened in the country before,” she said.

Chutkan sentenced two cousins with extensive criminal records to 45 days in jail for storming the Capitol, a rare and perplexing punishment among convicted January 6 rioters. She blasted the men for their “decision to take that protest and turn it into a violent occupation of the US Capitol … at a time when we were attempting the peaceful transfer of power.”

Julie Kelly has more information about this judge coming out soon.

She’s not an impartial judge and has directly and actively worked for Trumps opposition candidate.

She just recuse herself immediately. But of course she won’t as America is further destroyed by this totalitarian regime.

It’s time for change.

Well everybody knows all these cases will eventually be decided by the Supreme Court anyway, because whichever side loses they will instantly appeal...

I may be misinformed at best, or a dimwit at worst, but...how the hell is it possible or permissible that Garland gets to choose a judge for ANY case?

It’s time for change.

That change will only come when we have the next Civil War.

The only thing more toxic that a leftist white woman with purple hair and 7 cats is a leftist black woman with a mannish face.

It’s called Judge Shopping.

They wait until a certain judge’s schedule is up for another case, then they file theirs...............

I don’t think he did choose a judge, but you may recall that when Harry Reid nuked the filibuster, there were a ton of vacancies on the DC court that Obama then packed to the gills with communists.

As Trump continues to poll well, the communists are employing a two prong strategy to eliminate Trump. Ideally in the communist’s minds, they want to imprison Trump. Failing that goal, they hope to distract and bleed funds from Trump as he will surely have to take this to the Supreme Court.

And the people slumber. I certainly hope they enjoy the communist paradise they inhabit.

During the same hearing, she described the January 6 episode as “a violent mob seeking to overthrow the lawfully elected government,”....

IF that'd been the case they went totally unprepared to do so.

The overwhelming majority of the crowd was not armed. One does not attempt an overthrow without weapons.

They did not force their way into the deeper reaches of the Capitol.

It was an older crowd....not young revolutionaries.

How much video did we see of people merely walking through the building? And in some cases being encouraged by the police.

IF this had been an insurrection the "intelligence" agencies completely missed it and police were totally unprepared for it. Why? Because they knew there was no insurrection being planned.

There were few skirmishes except among the Antifa members who were there....but we've been told Antifa isn't an organization.

Yeah.....believe dat!

We shall see if hes “doomed”. Forgive me if the boy who cried wolf comes to mind. At the end of the day they at least need a viable case and an anti-Trump jury...neither of which seem guaranteed at this point in the process. I think folks are forgetting the weakness of these cases. They sound scary in the media but Trump has lawyers and America can see whats going on. Its no slam dunk folks on a jury wont see this all for what it is... a travesty. Gee I just heard Trump could get the death penalty for the latest charges- or 10 years - or nothing. Sounds ironclad.

It doesn’t matter who the judge is except for scheduling and sentencing. The jury pool will decide on guilty as soon as they’re selected. The decision will have to get appealed and overturned by SCOTUS.

The only silver lining l can find is this. This unqualified wretched woman is likely to be so heavy handed and unfair that the appeal team will have plenty team to work with.

Personally I think this is great news, they might have actually got some public buy-in if they actually put in a judge that had the appearance of impartiality. But by putting the most obviously biased left-wing Obama drone judge, no Trump supporters or Trump leaning voters will be swayed in the least.

*********
1. If Trump is acquitted (unlikely), it’s over for the prosecution because a defendant may not be re-tried on the same facts.

2. If he is convicted, Trump needs to argue that the Constution does not give prosecutors an unrestricted right to invent crimes and have them tried before biased jury pools. Otherwise, no candidate or office holder is safe.
