It's time to change how our country fills the ranks of our military.
Since 1775, our nation has used a combination of volunteers and draftees to meet our national defense personnel needs, especially in times of crisis.
Today, the military needs only about 160,000 youth from an eligible population of 30 million to meet its recruitment needs. But after two decades of war -- both of which ended unsuccessfully -- and low unemployment, many experts believe the all-volunteer force has reached a breaking point. And American confidence in its military is at a low.

Nonsense. Stop the endless wars, bring our troops home, get out of NATO. Why is the US military in so many countries? There is no real count, but more than 80 is a base number. Why Korea, why Iraq, why Syria? Why the endless bloodshed of American soldiers?
The strategy of America as the “world’s policeman” must stop, and it must end now. Korea, protect yourself with your own troops and your own money. How long must we protect you? Germany, enough already. you were defeated in WW II, only to have American troops be there for what? Spend your own money and blood to protect yourself.
This, to put it in the current zeitgeist, is not “sustainable.” ENOUGH!
Rather than a draft how about Universal Military Induction? No exemptions either everyone goes or a volunteer force.

Reminds me that I haven’t seen any recruiting commercials on tv for a very long time. I don’t watch a lot, so, are they still around? Or has Biden dropped them.

My Biodad last of the real Horse Calvary, and Dad 503rd Airborne under Gen. Mac, were WW2 Army, cousins Korea, then their sons Nam, and their sons the Sandboxes. My cousin In Law saw 32 yrs in USAF. Still does funerals as of 2021.
Marines are the toughest of the tough, the only reason they do meet requirements.
