Grift Capitalism: The GOP’s Brilliant Strategy For Ripping Off Ordinary Americans
Forbes ^ | Jul 5, 2022,04:59am EDT | Robert G. Eccles

...In this little video the confident and smooth Ramaswamy is almost mesmerizing in creating his own upside down world regarding fiduciary duty and ESG. Although he admits to his sympathetic interviewer that he doesn’t know what ESG is, he boldly asserts his commitment “to put excellence over politics.” (Keep this in the back of your mind as you read further.) He earnestly attacks “The Big Three” of BlackRock, State Street, and Vanguard as being driven by ideology rather than returns. “It’s the money of everyday American citizens that’s being used to advance this ideology that most of them disapprove of.”...

but these asset managers have a fiduciary duty to maximize the long-term returns of their clients.

So if they can make money by selling slaves in the Middle East or on organ harvesting in China or running kiddy brothels in India why are you complaining?

Money is the only value.

This thread has generated the most random posts in my FR career.
Asset managers have a defined sphere in which they can invest and they have a duty within that sphere to maximize stockholder longterm gains.
When you invest you are given information on what type of investments are possible.
If you are looking to make money from kiddy brothels or illegal activities Vanguard is not the place to go. If you want ESG in your investments prepare to be scammed & lose money. If you want to virtue signal with your investments do your own due diligence & buys stocks.

If you omitted the/s and were having fun I am past fun on this thread.

I would imagine almost all of those companies have “Diversity” executives whose job it is to discriminate against white people in the name of “social change”=The “S” in ESG.

Forbes has put you to sleep.

When your mind is made up facts and new ways of looking at things find no entry.
I would have felt guilty not to provide the information; what the FR universe does with it is up to them.
Companies are firing their Diversity staff in large numbers which is good. We don’t need a Government role nor a middle man skimming profit to accomplish that.
The Government is difficult to usher out once it has been invited in.

“Many scientists skim, read for detail and then go back to check for any fine points. You could try it. This is a very meaty article and was worth my time. Have a good day.”

I could also repeatedly hit myself in the head with a hammer because it feels so good when I stop, but I’ll pass.

I am past fun on this thread.

So am I.

I said what I mean and I mean what I said.

I know you and your buddies who live to squash people who do not bow down and worship your bank account are upset because there are those of us who object but you are just going to have to live with it.

You do not know me, nor my bank account. I do not know you. The issue is more complex than you are portraying.
Be careful you are not fooled by virtue signalers who seek to use you as a toll in their pursuit of profit and power. There is a great deal of evil parading as good.

Nope.

Be careful you are not fooled by virtue signalers who seek to use you as a toll in their pursuit of profit and power. There is a great deal of evil parading as good.

You should say that while looking in a mirror.

But I got a feeling you actually are not fooled.

“The point is whether this is a way for Vivek to monetize the issue. Information is power. Reading the entire article furnishes facts that show that the course being pushed by Ramaswamy will damage returns, strip money from pension funds and allow Government to dictate to industry. How has that worked before?”

That is nonsense. Ramaswamy’s point about not defining ESG is because given the numerous ESG advocates and what they say is ESG and what the academic bishops of ESG say it means, it all really depends on who you ask. That defining delimna is not Ramawamy’s.

Business wize all Ramaswamy is doing is offering investment fund alternative that promises not to make investment decisions based on ESG concernrs.

That is not “grifting” and the claim it is comes from the biggest pushers of ESG.

They are trying to smear Ramaswamy as solelu operating for monetary gain, when anyone read enough of what he says about the U.S. government policies and positions knows that to be a lie.

Some GOP-E types do not like how well Ramaswamy is doing in the polls.

“You have made it your mission to tear down Vivek, the guy actually committed to the conservative cause and an American revival. And you quote who ? A “Tenured Harvard Professor” attacking Republicans. Not going to read that garbage.”

X1000!!!

He’s worse than the anti-Desantis posse, and that’s saying something.

So-called conservatives who seek to divide us through tearing people down ARE EVIL. Often I think their hidden (Dem, marxist) agenda is supress the overall vote in the General Election.

Because these anti-candidate hit pieces demoralize everyone here!!!

Pure Evil.
