I’m missing where DeSantis said what the headline says.

He didn’t support Biden’s DOJ.

+1

Why do some Freepers allow themselves to be manipulated by the media so easily?

What ALL GOP Candidates should’ve done is attack the DOJ for an obvious totalitarian action of a oppressive political regime.

Then everyone of them should have dropped out and throw their support behind Trump.

Fixed it.

Trump stands a very good chance of being acquitted in the documents case.He will be treated fairly by the judge there and the jury pool will be much more favorable to him. Also this case is seen as politically motivated even by those who don't much like Trump.

The J6 indictment is very different for Trump. A DC jury. An almosg certain indictment and conviction. While he has a much more direct appellate opportunity in the DC district, the political and legal downsides are much more damaging for him.

If Trump is convicted by a DC jury he either rolls the dice with the appellate court overturning the conviction or he will need a pardon to stay out of prison.

Trump already had an uphill climb to reach 270 electoral votes. With J6 being the focus of a criminal proceeding against him ,that pathway becomes nearly impossible.

What are his options if he lose?

If only trump shut up about DeSantis a year ago, he’d have a supporter instead of a guy who wouldn’t piss on trump if he was on fire. Trump did this to himself. DeSantis did not.

What a total POS! He just KILLED his career! TOTALLY KILLED it!! And I guarantee you, he will not be reelected! He just about drove the nail in his own career coffin. He might as well just jump over the line and go with the rat party. See what I mean. It’s all a huge powerful collusion to take out Trump. You either take him out and jail him which won’t stop the MAGA movement or you assassinate him which won’t stop it either…he’ll just become a bigger martyr for the MAGA base. They’re screwed either way. Remember Tiananmen Square in China? How they literally destroyed that movement? That is exactly what they’re trying to do to the MAGA movement…..grind it to the ground with both parties participating in the kill! They’re still thinking cowboys and Indians, where the Cowboys would take out the chief, and the Indians would scatter, and be no more….but they picked on the wrong people! 74 million and growing tremendously by leaps and bounds is a huge group to be reckoned with. The DOJ better get that through their thick skulls!!

When asked whether he believed Trump’s actions were wrong in connection with the Jan. 6 insurrection, DeSantis said, “I think it was shown how he was in the White House and didn’t do anything while things were going on. He should have come out more forcefully ... but to try to criminalize that, that’s a different issue entirely.”

That's a political bull sh*t statement if there ever was one.

What could he have done, Ron? He wanted the capitol police involved, and Nancy said No.

Desantis is now dead to me. Anyone justifying J6 indicments is unfit for office.

There's a video that shows RDS clearly in support, as if the charges might have merit.

Untrue. I encourage you to take a breath and read the quotes at the link.

He runs regardless and wins. No other option. The GOP is dead as a party if Trump is taken out. YOU SQUISHES CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK.

Seals it for me. If Desantis ends up being the nominee, I will vote third-party this go-around, or else sit on my hands at home and watch the nation burn down around me. Country will be screwed anyway, so what’s the diff?

That’s OK, you just keep telling everyone what DeSantos really said. Good luck with that.

Bush’s completed 3 terms as president. Very rare. And most of us voted all three times for them. Yes some want a revisionist history on their voting record, but too late. Lol.

The title says exactly the OPPOSITE of what the article says.

“The State” is a publication of the McClatchy Media Network, which leans left.

We FReepers shouldn’t allow leftists to form our opinions for us.

All he says is that Trump should have sent out another tweet that encouraged the people who were breaking shit in the Capitol to go home. He's not wrong, but Trump's actions were not criminal.

DeSantis is 100% wrong on this.

Trump's Twitter account was shut down in the middle of that fiasco. His initial tweet wasn't even visible anymore shortly after it was posted.
