Mayor Eric Adams declared himself “the symbol of black manhood in this city, in this country” during a speech last week at a Brooklyn church, where he again defended his outsized reaction to a 84-year-old Holocaust survivor who dared to question him at a community forum.
Hizzoner’s comments came Sunday at the Christian Cultural Center in Starrett City, as he continued to allude to his June 28 exchange with housing-rights advocate Jeanie Dubnau, whom he compared to a plantation owner at the town hall meeting after she “disrespected” him by griping about new rent increases for rent-stabilized apartments citywide.
Adams didn’t mention Dubnau by name — but it appeared he was talking about their exchange when he brought up a story he’s repeatedly told about how his late mother, Dorothy, who cleaned houses for a living, would repeatedly get fired for snapping back at disrespectful employers.
“She would say it was my job to clean your garbage pail — not to take your crap. And she would say to me, ‘baby don’t you ever let someone disrespect you,’” he said during his 10-minute talk.

Adams – who also used to event to continue his onslaught of a New York press corps he believes covers him unfairly — then boasted: “I’m the symbol of black manhood in this city, in this country and what it represents. I am the mayor of the most powerful city on the globe and people need to recognize that.”
He previously declared himself the “future of the Democratic Party” following his 2021 primary victory before easily winning in the general mayoral election. ***

This guy is under a lot of stress.
Adams is a Democrat, but he ran to the right. The people he was running against were farther to the left. Especially the main opponent was a woman who was very progressive.

Little old Jewish lady who is not just a Holocaust survivor but who has spent her life trying to help people maintain their residences in absurdly-overpriced Manhattan? Call her a plantation owner! "Don't stand in front like you treated someone that's on the plantation that you own.". Again, look at the Mayor's last name. He might just be sensitive about that subject lofl.

Adams won by more than 2 to 1. It wasn’t even close.
I want to say good luck, NYC. But you had your chance. You could have had another Giuliani. But no. You chose poorly.
Bingo. Adams, like Lightfoot, reacts to the slightest criticism of himself as racist. It’s a learned defensive reflex. He knows calling the rent control lady a plantation owner makes him look bad. He suffers from narcissism. Narcissism is a mental defect.
Hey, it can be fun to listen to Curtis Sliwa in the radio, but he's also a nutcase.
I'd rather Adams was not the mayor, but you can't argue that Sliwa had a chance with New York voters. The already voted twice for DeBlasio, and Adams was a lot less extreme with him, and talked enough anti-crime game.
-Sliwa was never even a Republican until 2020
-His last domestic partner was a Democrat, and his current wife is an animal rights activist.
-Sliwa admitted that he faked his own kidnapping by transit cops in 1983. (While Adams was in the Police Academy)
-Sliwa admitted to fake subway rescues.
-He has a track record of saying goofy things.
But he, Mario Cuomo endorsed the Guardian Angels.

When Alvin Bragg was charging Jose Alba with murder, for videotaped self defense, Adams came out and said he was not guilty of murder and went to the DA.
there has to be a million black guys more intelligent, more intune, more wise than this buffoon.
