When an overwhelming number of Americans support a specific public health policy, as rare as that is these days, you’d think our elected leaders in Washington would rush to pass legislation that reflects the will of their respective voters.
And when that policy involves the pressing issue of solving child hunger, you’d think Congress would move expeditiously to prevent further suffering endured by a defenseless segment of the U.S. population.

American children might have a lot of problems but hunger isn’t one of them. Half of them are fat
Your wish is my command, Comrade!
Abracadabra! It is so!
The responsibility of “solving” child hunger belongs to their parents - not the public at large.
I paid for my own children’s food, all six of them. In addition I paid for a lot of children’s food through taxes.
Moronic low intelligence EBT recipients, or drug addled, are illegally selling or trading the food benefits intended for their impoverished children instead of feeding them. We are trying to fix this by providing the same food coverage 2 or 3x over from different directions, in hope that SOME food slips through to the actual hungry kids. Parents get food stamps, kids get free meals at school, even on snow days. Extra backpacks of food sent home to cover hunger over the weekends and summer vacation has schools keeping their food services open to provide meals all Summer even if kids not is Summer school and school not in session.
...FREE STUFF!
The average level of intelligence is very low these days, so that doesn't carry much weight. And besides, Congress is supposed to be bound by the constraints of the Constitution.
More socialism! More taxes!
Our school district has food trucks handing out free meals during the summer.
I wonder if the fat Mexicans are still lining up for “free” summer lunches, outside my old elementary school
I see a lot of well fed government piglets in my public schools.
Beat the hunger drum, beat it loudly, beat it some more.
Political rhetoric about hungary children is political malpractice these days. The problem is not money to buy food. The problem is druggie mothers who have been finally deserted in despair by the kid’s grandmother
And then there is the village problem. The kids don’t know if their friend is a cousin or a half sibling and if the man is their father or their uncle. Their mothers and aunts don’t know either
Employ the parents so THEY can feed their “children” instead of letting them gang bang their way through “skool”,
Employ the students- to pay for their food, they so starving. Every program you listed provides BILLIONS in food by specie coupon payment through digital systems. Look sometime at “poor” people shopping in certain EBT price based stores— they carry out far more in groceries and useless nutritional shite than cash paying patrons. Period.
The only children starving— are being starved by their crackhead/fentanyl addict “parents” aka baby daddies and mommies who take all the subsidy money and exchange it for cash at the local “sto” from willing owners. It happens all over.
Child hunger? Just look at all the fat people. America needs a diet.
I’m glad the government is doing something, I get tired of stepping over all the emaciated kids lying out side my public school. /S
The child doesn’t know where his next meal is coming from, but his mother has braids that cost hundreds and nails that cost another one hundred.
The problem isn’t a lack of money. The problem is mom’s poor judgment in setting priorities, and money management, with a heaping dose of pure selfishness thrown in the mix. Mom has the money and she spends it on herself because the gubmint pays for her kid’s lunch.
There are already enough programs to feed children. If they aren’t being fed then the parent(s) are liable.
Hungry students? Excuse me, but Mrs Deplorable and I feed our kids! Your kids are your own problem, not the WORKING CLASS taxpayers who work to put food on their table. I’ve seen people at Winn-Dixie with their food stamps, junk food heaven. 99% soda, sugary cereals, frozen foods and canned goods (Beefaroni, Spaghettis, beef stew).
My nephew’s daughter was given an EBT card pre-filled with $300 (per month?) for lunches for the summer. All children in the school district are getting school breakfast and lunches. If any child is going hungry, it’s because parents are not feeding their children, and are stealing their own kids lunch money.
