By now, everyone has heard about the narrowly avoided coup in Russia: Last Friday night, Yevgeniy Prigozhin, one of Putin's most trusted allies and the commander of the notorious Russian mercinary Wagner Group, marched on Moscow in an apparent coup d'etat, only to come to a swift agreement with Vladimir Putin and decamp for Belarus. While most commentators acknowledged that things didn't quite add up, the "expert" class happily concluded that at least it had weakened Putin in his war against Ukraine.
None seemed to realize the obvious truth: The coup was staged, and completely faked false flag operation.
Think about it: An army invades Russia, race right up to Moscow, and no one gets hurt? With just a few thousand men, it achieved what Hitler with almost a million men wasn't able to? And Putin holds his military back? And then, with Moscow supposedly within his grasp, Prigozhin decides, "Oh well, never mind" and heads to Belarus? Prigozhin would have had to be an idiot or suicidal to think that with 8,000 men he could invade Moscow. Yet Prigozhin is very smart man, a juvenile delinquent turned convict, then hot dog salesman, then CEO of a multi-million dollar catering business serving the Kremlin, to finally commander of the world's most formidable mercenary force. It is utterly implausible that Prigozhin thought that he could take on Rosgvardia, Russia's National Guard, a 340,000-strong domestic security force reporting directly Putin.
And then there was the footage of Prigozhin sitting a bench in Rostov-on-Don, bantering amiably with Russia's deputy minister of defense, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and deputy head of the Russian military intelligence, the GRU, Lt. Gen. Vladimir Alekseyev. It was just too chummy for a true rebellion.

Hey, the west falls for Ukraine’s crap. If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em...
By what measure is he stronger? Geez you’re such a liar.
I love listening to idiots telling us not only what is happening, but what definitely will be happening.
Nonsense. No one has explained to me why Putin would want to appear weak.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Russian Doctrine of refexive control. The NATO nations and their people will not press their governments to up the military finding for Ukraine!
Koffler knows exactly what she is talking about. Only a liberal would believe otherwise.
Is not Newsweek part of the corporate media that supposedly condemns “conspiracy theories”? What is this story doing if not theorizing a conspiracy?
Just because the Russian military has a doctrine, does not mean it works.
The Russian military has not been a shining example over the last 18 months.
CIA Burns after the fact claimed that they knew about it all along but, No Sirree!, they didn’t have anything to do with it.
The lies and copes from these clowns have moved from insulting to just pathetic.
I love listening to idiots telling us not only what is happening, but what definitely will be happening.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Thank you for being such a good listener. YOur creds on Russia are ?
Here are Kofflers:
Rebekah Koffler, the author of Putin’s Playbook: Russia’s Secret Plan to Defeat America, is a former intelligence officer who served as a Russian Doctrine & Strategy specialist in the Defense Intelligence Agency from 2008 until late 2016. She has delivered classified briefings to top U.S. military commanders, NATO ministers, the directors of the CIA and DIA, the White House National Security Council, and senior congressional staff. In her post-public service career, Rebekah is a writer, commentator, and national security consultant whose work has been published on the Fox News website, The Hill, the Daily Caller, and the Washington Times. She has appeared on Fox News, One America News, and the Sean Hannity nationally syndicated radio show.
Rebekah’s conservative, pro-America views were formed as a result of her experience growing up under the totalitarian socialist regime of the Soviet Union. Rebekah strongly believes that capitalism, however imperfect, is superior to the soul-crushing, oppressive, poverty-inducing socialist system of state control. It is for this reason that Rebekah is dedicating her post-public service career to the fight for freedom, individual rights, and holding government establishment apparatchiks to account. Protecting America from sliding toward dehumanizing socialism and its next phase, communism, while describing the threat posed to the United States by Russia, is Rebekah’s current mission.

Do you think all of it was Prigozhin’s idea and he did it for free? Whatever. We’ve all got opinions. I was (We we’re) called crazy for believing a lot of things which later proved to be correct.
Prigozhin was shooting off his mouth about problems in the Russian military for quite a while.
I suspect he had reason to believe his days were numbered. That is what he said. The whole monetary setup for Wagner was set to change a few days after the "coup".
Who was in his corner, who he thought was in his corner, and what made him change his mind, are things which are difficult to know and to speculate about. By nature, such support or lack thereof, are very closely guarded secrets.
“By what measure is he stronger? Geez you’re such a liar.”
How’s that “Greatest Offensive Operation” going these days?
Just because the Russian military has a doctrine, does not mean it works. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Well looks like a win to me, Putin has tactial nukes in Belarus and the Wagner Group is being reconstituted in Belarus to use them.
And it did not work?
Newspeak
“None seemed to realize the obvious truth.”
Terrible writing. This person presents zero evidence of anything but then labels her unfounded opinion as “the obvious truth.”
my take is that the CIA tried to pay mercenary’s hired by Russian intelligence to turn on Putin. The mercenaries took the down payment and then pretended to do a rebellion long enough to get the rest of the payoff.
Are there photos and footage of The Wagner Group attacking Moscow?
It was a trap all along. Wagner will attack Kiev from Belarus in short order.
And it did not work?
You are assuming that happened.
You are assuming it was the purpose.
Why wouldn't Putin just talk to his "good friend" in Belarus, move tactical nukes there, and move the Wagner group there to use them?
Nothing to stop him. No reason to go through this drama which undermines the credibility of the Russian military command.
Why create this entire charade?
The Wagner group may be in possession of a Nuke now.
So Putin now has Wagner, military aircraft, tanks, garrison troops and tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.
I am sure glad we had him fooled.
