By now, everyone has heard about the narrowly avoided coup in Russia: Last Friday night, Yevgeniy Prigozhin, one of Putin's most trusted allies and the commander of the notorious Russian mercinary Wagner Group, marched on Moscow in an apparent coup d'etat, only to come to a swift agreement with Vladimir Putin and decamp for Belarus. While most commentators acknowledged that things didn't quite add up, the "expert" class happily concluded that at least it had weakened Putin in his war against Ukraine.
None seemed to realize the obvious truth: The coup was staged, and completely faked false flag operation.
Think about it: An army invades Russia, race right up to Moscow, and no one gets hurt? With just a few thousand men, it achieved what Hitler with almost a million men wasn't able to? And Putin holds his military back? And then, with Moscow supposedly within his grasp, Prigozhin decides, "Oh well, never mind" and heads to Belarus? Prigozhin would have had to be an idiot or suicidal to think that with 8,000 men he could invade Moscow. Yet Prigozhin is very smart man, a juvenile delinquent turned convict, then hot dog salesman, then CEO of a multi-million dollar catering business serving the Kremlin, to finally commander of the world's most formidable mercenary force. It is utterly implausible that Prigozhin thought that he could take on Rosgvardia, Russia's National Guard, a 340,000-strong domestic security force reporting directly Putin.
And then there was the footage of Prigozhin sitting a bench in Rostov-on-Don, bantering amiably with Russia's deputy minister of defense, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and deputy head of the Russian military intelligence, the GRU, Lt. Gen. Vladimir Alekseyev. It was just too chummy for a true rebellion.

Too funny - they see that Putin is now STRONGER than before the coup, so they now have to claim he staged it.
But one question: Did Putin also ‘stage’ the aircraft shootdowns that killed dozens of Russian soldiers?
I knew it. And Putin got billions from tje CIA from this stunt.
And then there was the footage of Prigozhin sitting a bench in Rostov-on-Don
Xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Did anyone see where it was reported that Prigozhim was also a movie producer?
Vlad zelensky was formerly an actor
So my question would be how much of what we see is made for tv clown show?
—”I knew it. And Putin got billions from tje CIA from this stunt.”
No way.
Only Milo Minderbinder could make a move like that and profit from it.
Putin isn’t stronger.
This was a humiliation.
Fascist dictators can appear strong to some.
Until they shoot themselves in the head or are hanging from a lamp post.
Oh geez. Shut up. F’ing Newsweak. We all know the CIA got ripped off by the Wagner guy... who probably gave Putin and Biden a cut. Hell we already made a bunch of Ukrainian Generals rich.
Yeah, he blew up his own pipeline too🤪
One thing is for sure: NO FReeper knows exactly what this was all about. Some never learn the difference between what they *think* and what they *know*.
If true why can’t Putin stage his own January 6th like the “Deep State” Biden Gang did?
It’s a way to deal with internal opposition and has been imitated in Brazil on January 8th and in Pakistan on May 9th of this year.
Speculation.
Nonsense. No one has explained to me why Putin would want to appear weak.
Sounds like the life story of a lot of US military recruits who turn their lives around and become great sailors and marines and soldiers and airmen.
What nonsense. For anyone to claim they know what is plausible or not, in this very strange war, makes them a very poor source.
What is the purpose of the supposed plot?
From the article: Think about it: An army invades Russia, race right up to Moscow, and no one gets hurt? With just a few thousand men, it achieved what Hitler with almost a million men wasn't able to? And Putin holds his military back? And then, with Moscow supposedly within his grasp, Prigozhin decides, "Oh well, never mind" and heads to Belarus?
Except, mischaracterizes the facts. If a rear guard of Red Army had attempted this, from behind the lines of most of the Red Army, in 1943, it might have been similar.
What military did Putin have to "hold back"? How much was sympathetic to Prigozin?
And, Wagner was 120 miles from Moscow, just when Wagner would have started running into potential resistance from the Russia National Guard. Wagner was not "right up to Moscow".
So many silly assumptions. All to push a theory of how smart the Russians are.
“This was a humiliation.”
Putin’s BIGGEST WEAPON are people who think like you, starting with the Neocons.
Well, he sure sucked in the CIA and Blinken who swore he was finished this time. Putin has been making monkeys of these asses for many years.
What "we"?
Very few people believe that fable.
Think the “missing” Pentagon $6.2 Billion... did Putin just take the CIA to the cleaners?
Koffler is FORMER CIA , DEA operative re Russia. SHe knows exactly what she is talking about.
NOw the Wagner group will be reconstructed in Belarus, Putin has tactical nukes there. And the war has widened and will be waged not only on the east of Ukraine but on the NOrth of Ukraine with a possibility of invasion of NATO countries.
THis is a strategy known as reflexive control doctrine in the Russian military, and the West fell for it all.
REbekah should be listened to.Or there will be many sorry people.
