A Washington state-based grocery chain is under scrutiny for asking customers to donate to diversity, equity and inclusion “awareness” with some online critics lobbing criticism at the company.
A screenshot obtained by Fox News Digital shows a checkout kiosk at Haggen Grocery Store that asks shoppers whether they want to donate $1, $3, $5 or another amount to “help advocate for DEI Awareness” when they checkout.
Customers can also decline if they want, the screenshot shows.
Haggen is owned by mega-company Albertsons.
Behind the kiosk, an advertisement for the Haggen Foundation tells patrons that from June 14 through mid-August, they can donate at any register to “support organizations that make positive social changes to ensure all community members live a healthy and fully inclusive life.”
One of the charities that would benefit from customers’ generosity is the Northwest Justice Project (NJP) which works to challenge “structural and racial inequities to promote the long-term well-being of low-income individuals, families and communities across Washington State,” according to its website.

I wonder how much of the information is collected on those who refuse. And who do they sell it to?

In other words, DaShawn would like to thank you for buying him a brand new mansion.
Support inequality!
Sorry, but at this stage of the game I choose complete segregation and want nothing to do with black people anymore
I would cancel my order, leave their stuff sitting there and tell the casher that he or she can tell the owners that I said they can go eat dirt and DIE themselves.
A great way for banks and corporations to collect ESG compliance info.
This is just the start it will be everywhere. Toll roads, online, phone bills, soon you won’t even notice.
So if you use a credit card or debit, will they know if you pick, hell no?
Really? I don’t often buy things on eBay, but two weeks ago I did. I didn’t see anything during payment processing. I did get a great deal on a pair of used shoes. $23 for a $120 retail priced new pair of shoes. They are leather and already broken in. Perfect to wear without socks in summer. I’m glad I didn’t buy new and have to break my feet in as well as the shoes.
My church has a food pantry. Anyone who needs food can go by and get enough for several days. It is supported by members who buy the food directly from a list.
Haggens used to be a local family owned chain. More expensive than other stores in the area. I guess now that they’re owned by Albertson’s they probably have to bow to BlackRock.
Publix does it for hurricane victims or presents for kids at Christmas, but usually I opt out. Food inflation is bad enough, I need to save money...
We had one in Oak Harbor. They didn’t have that message when I was there.

However there are signs with messages about the sound of Freedom and a fun place called Greene’s Gun Shop
The donation box shows up at check out, is on the lower left. You could miss it if you are just looking at your checkout information.
"No."

It's more than that. Anyone using a debit, credit or EBT card can easily be identified and put on an "enemy of the people" list. Just one of the reasons for going to a cashless society.
Where is the button that says, “H$?! NO!!!!!!!!!”
