Modelo Especial overtook Bud Light as the top-selling beer in the U.S. in May as Bud Light sales were crushed by a boycott over the brand’s relationship with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
But who owns Modelo Especial? Many of those supporting the boycott have voiced concerns that the Mexican beer brand might be owned Anheuser-Busch, the company that makes Bud Light and is part of an international conglomerate called AB InvBev.
Fortunately for Americans pushing back against Bud Light’s transgender influencer ties, Modelo Especial is not owned by Anheuser-Busch and sales of the Mexican brand here in the U.S. do not wind up in the coffers of AB InBev. Modelo Especial sold in the U.S. is a product of a different company called Constellation Brands that has its roots in upstate New York.
The confusion stems from the fact that Anheuser-Busch purchased a company called the Groupo Modelo back in 2013 in a transaction valued at $20.1 billion. U.S. antitrust regulators, however, required Anheuser-Busch to sell the U.S. rights to Modelo, Pacifico, and Corona to win approval for the deal. Constellation was the buyer and the acquisition included an advanced brewery in Mexico as well as the glass production plant used to bottle the beer.
Anheuser-Bush still owns the rights to Modelo outside of the U.S. But U.S. sales benefit Constellation and not Anheauser-Busch.

For beer drinkers, support your local breweries.
Shiner Bock
Yuengling too
When your company is worth billions, these corrupt people are able to buy up everything else and simply eliminate the competition.
Like what Biden and this corrupt government are doing to Trump.
I always thought Modelo was run by morons. Selling Mexican beer using the music from movies about a white guy called “blondie” who went around shootin’ Mexicans. I never could figure that out.
That’s been my choice for years now, but I don’t hold out much hope they will resist going woke.
But I can hope they won’t.
Wait until you find out how many companies control your food!
The Dos Equis guy, I would imagine.
As long as they can stay non-union, there is hope they can avoid going woke.
I think that hook is just because it’s one of the most awesome pieces of music ever, and grabs the listener’s attention. Not a bad way to “force” people to pay attention.
And he’s only Blondie in that movie. And pretty much only shoots white people in that one.
But we have allowed a bunch of foreign interests to buy up rights to our American companies and form them into conglomerates which would not be legal in the US but quite common overseas where giant monopolies are the way things are done.
However those rights can be severed at any time the US government cares to do it.
Any number of countries have done it in the past. They either force a sale to local interests or just simply sever those rights and hand them over to local interests.
Really stupid countries just nationalize the foreign owned businesses but since governments can't run a basic call center that is a sure way of running them into the ground.
Modelo is crap also.
So AB still owns rights to Modelo sold outside the US and Constellation owns the rights inside the US.

Beer 13 og 16 is Modelo Especial
That’s my understanding.
That is true but Constellation Brands is woke and pushing trans too. You can google it yourself.
He’s tall, he’s blonde, he smokes a cigar and he is a pig!
We have so many illegals from mexico that the number one beer is now a mexican beer.
