Ferrari Says No to EVs: Will Stick to Traditional Combustion Engines
Breitbart ^ | 05/15/2023 | Simon Kent

Legendary Italian car maker Ferrari has no intention of phasing out combustion engines and going fully electric or hybrid anytime soon, promising Sunday to keep making the eight and 12-cylinder engines it has made its trademark at least until the end of the 2030s.

The chief of the Italian manufacturer told the BBC in an interview it would be “arrogant” to dictate to customers what they can buy while at the same time walking away from the company’s heritage.

I haven’t heard it ...

How does it compare to eight TF33 engines dragging a loaded B52 off the ground?

My bad it was BMW Aston Martin and Lamborghini that have either ended production or announced they are ending production of the v12

“The Ferrari 812 - The car’s most striking feature is the latest evolution of Maranello’s legendary 65° V12 engine which reaches the highest output of any Ferrari road-car engine - 830 cv - and revs to 9,500 rpm, again the highest of any Ferrari ICE.”

The Ferrari 812 redlines at 9,500 rpm while their F1 engine idles at 9,500 rpm.

“Hey, Enzo.”

During WWII Enzo was a fairly wealthy man, but a well known engineer...He had, for the rest of his life, a body guard.

NO ONE could EVER (outside of his immediate family) call Mr. Ferrari Enzo. He was always referred to as Mr. Ferrari or Il Commendatore (capital I, small L).

However most mornings Il Commendatore was greeted by his bodyguard: “Good morning (in Italian), Enzo!” he would say.

In response Il Commendatore would say: “”Good morning (in Italian), Enzo!”...the first name of his bodyguard...

“Ferrari lacks the capital to engage in the EV free for all.

Ferrari lacks the engineering depth and talent to enter the fray.

Ferrari has no choice in the matter”

The Ferrari hybrid F1 cars can achieve over 230 MPH during a race, this is, of course, with a $150,000 battery. The battery lasts 6 races.

Ferrari KNOWS batteries.

In fact Ferrari knows enough about batteries to KNOW they do not want to produce an EV.

“In the 1971 Cannonball...in 35 hours 54 minutes...You’re luck if you can put a full charge on a Tesla in 36 hours.”

Grow up.

The anti Cannonball (West to East) for EV’s is: 42 hours and 17 minutes set by a Tesla.

I, personally, do not like EVs. I do appreciate knowledge, perhaps you do as well.

Best, FRiend.

Great history.

When I read the article, “Hey, Enzo” or “Oh, Enzo” popped intro my head. Not sure where I heard it, but think it might’ve been a TV commercial long ago. I don’t know if it was associated with the car or not. Just can’t remember.

Those aren't batteries, they're super-capacitors.

Fifty years later and six hours slower than a car with stick shift, no ASB, no traction control, no GPS, and NO PANACHE. Now that's what I call progress.

I know someone who has a couple of Ferraris, a couple of Teslas, a C8 Corvette, a couple or 3 McLarens, a Cadillac, a Harley-Davidson, high-end ski boat, one of those HondaJets like Michael Avenatti had (well MA had two).
My point is that no one who owns a Ferrari has that as their only car. In fact, it is hard (for me) to imagine Ferrari becoming an “also ran” in the EV world after crafting their unique position in the world of motor vehicles.

It’s a battery pack, NOT a capacitor.

‘Nuff said.
