President Jimmy Carter’s strongly held conviction that elections are the heart of democracy is an indelible part of his legacy. Elections, he believes, allow citizens to choose their leaders, and just as importantly, hold them accountable. As with so many aspects of his life, Carter has put his good intentions into action in ways that helped make elections at home and around the world to be as free and fair as possible.

Dear Mr. Baker,

That party is long dead. The dems are no longer a party that tries to sell the voters on their policies. They could care the less about selling policy. They spend every waking minute figuring out how to rig the elections. Period.

They are a party of power for the sake of power. They don’t care if the train crashes off of the tracks so long as they are driving it.

There is no compromise with them.

Love,

Reality.

This certainly ain’t Sam Nunn’s Democrat party anymore. Today’s Democrat is a blend of East Germany’s secret police and a compact with Screwtape and Wormwood.

The article is behind a paywall. So I’ll ask here, has Carter ever contested an election where the Democrat won? If so, he is an honorable man.

But if not, he’s just another hypocritical hack.

Carter was old school Democrat, I decided to leave the military rather than work for him. I am a staff sergeant
then.
These Piglosi, Schumer and Biden style Democrats are absolutely intolerable. They are stark raving nutcases that cannot be reasoned with. Nor do you dare compromise with them. They do not understand that word. They spell compromise
like this “capitulate”.

“Fair” elections are for establishment-approved candidates ONLY.

Then, the Dems learned how to cheat. Now, they no longer have to concern themselves with ‘fair’.

In many precincts, they count the votes until they win.

Democrats have zero incentive for making certain that elections are free and fair. Zero incentive.

I don't think they care at all.

Well, they still work together to have election results they want.

Same thing.

Dems don’t care about voters.....
They only care about ballots.

There is a huge difference. The few people that can get ballots are now more important that the voters.

Meanwhile in Washington DC the Uniparty will vote themselves more of the peoples money, get richer, and watch the nation currency and people burn.

It’s a government of the government, by the government, for the government. Ballots just keep that going, not voters.

Pretty sure the parties are still working together, but the difference is they are working for rigged elections.

"Landslide Lyndon" in the 1948 Texas Senate Democratic primary.

Grover Cleveland won in 1884 by carrying New York state by a razor-thin margin. Blaine's loss is generally blamed on his supporter's calling the Democrats the party of "rum, Romanism, and rebellion," offending Catholic voters (few of whom voted for the Republicans anyway), but maybe the Tammany machine in New York City was the real reason that Cleveland won the election.
