Donald Trump’s campaign has called out Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in a new TV ad for “attacking” the former Republican president and one-time ally — and suggested the governor should drop out of the race before he even gets in.
“Ron DeSantis was struggling big time in his primary race for governor of Florida,” says the ad’s narrator, referring to the 44-year-old’s first gubernatorial run in 2018.
“Polls revealed DeSantis was failing so bad, he was losing by a staggering 17 points,” the narrator adds. “Then DeSantis was saved by the endorsement of President Trump.
“Trump’s support was so powerful, just two days after the endorsement, DeSantis took a commanding lead and it propelled him to being elected governor.”

That doesn’t make it right.
At the end of the day the only question is, is this behavior gaining him undecided votes or losing undecided votes?
I think anybody that can think objectively knows the answer to that.
Comparing DeSantis and Jeb is foolish and silly. Unless you just woke up from a four year nap and missed Florida’s conservative governing renaissance.
Jeb was a snoozer. DeSantis has bucked the country club republican approach at every turn.
You are viewing history through your own lens. Jeb was a popular governor in his day, and was grabbing national conservative attention back then. Just like desantis is now. But desantis has already bowed to the gopE and the deep state. My God! just look at the people who support him. And for the record, I live in Florida.
Yeah.......not to the degree he seems to believe.
It’s the 3 AM vote dump that matters..
And Trump isn’t winning those.
Neither is any R that isn’t a crook.
So, maybe the R team should go back to the Bush,Dole,Bush, McCain, Romney strategy.
But a few ‘wins’ in there don’t look like wins with Trump’s 4 years in comparison..
Any who thinks objectively knows the difference..
Trump is simply running true to form.
His only real primary opponent, right now, is Desantis. Therefore Trump is trying to define him, and focus on the reasons “Trump good. Desantis bad.”
After the Dem primary has made it’s selection, Trump would do the same regarding the Dem opposition candidate.
Trump is masterful at dominating the news cycle. Currently he has only Desantis to worry about. Hence Desantis is the only target in Trump’s sites.
That makes you an ungrateful SOB in my book. No one has done more for this country, or sacrificed more, or been put through more in my lifetime then Trump.
Because the media promotes him. I doubt he will ever go after Biden this much. Her let Pelosi run the country for four years. In office, he was a total Jeb.
Why? Did you endorse him for the cause of conservatism or for your own personal reasons?
I’m sure in your mind anyone who says anything in the least critical of Trump is an SOB.

Once you’ve seen the man behind the curtain, it’s hard to take any of this seriously.

Here’s the problem DeSantis is facing. Trump is free to give DeSantis every punch he chooses. In the supercharged atmosphere we will be in between now and the election, almost every punch DeSantis throws comes off as supporting anti-MAGA forces. Like it or not, this simply isn’t DeSantis’ time. He may well make a good candidate sometime down the road. Unfortunately, GOP anti-Trumpers have nowhere else to go and they are willing to sacrifice DeSantis at his own political peril. He’s wiser to get behind Trump. I’ve participated and observed politics for over half a century. One thing I’ve learned: you won’t beat the trend and believe me, Trump is the trend in the GOP at this point in history and assuming current trends continue his strength will only grow between now and the election.
Trump is too old and just too encumbered with controversy, however De Santis is better off serving FL.
The rats will coronate the old fool, saving their money for it’s sketchy get-out-the vote schemes, while the GOP will spend all of its money running RINO also-rans against the strongest candidate they’ve had in decades.
Its really simple - do we believe the policies Trump promoted
and is promoting are the country’s best chance or don’t we? If we do then everyone needs to drop the silly BS and get behind him..
